I zoomed in on a satellite image of the area and it looks like an excellent place for a nine-hole course. I expect it would get played a lot year-round.

Andy Jewett hit his third USM ace last night with a forehand Firebird slamming the chains on #17 (8b). Witnesses were a large contingent of beer leaguers, a couple of birds from Olathe and the usual USM crowd, 21 in all. Needless to say, he went away with a few more bucks in his pocket than he started with and that disc is now covered in signatures.

Yup! The party on the college campus last night turned out great.   ;D

Beer league made a road trip up to see us so we adopted their gang-golf rules and were able to get seventeen holes in before darkness encroached prompting us to fire up the grill. It was a blast!

Beer league RocS!!!   8)

We celebrated Rebecca's birthday. Andy Jewett got the aforementioned ace and a couple of Birds from Olathe joined us, Tom and Deano. Jack Lowe even paid us a visit to get in on the fun.  Tom took top honors for the night with a bogie-free five under par. Nice shooting! Bogie free was no easy task with that crowd and a couple of the temp holes being stretched out a bit.

Being beer league and a pretty casual style round I don't have other scores to report but suffice to say, there were 21 rounds of seventeen holes played, one ace and at least one hot round. Good times! And good food too... Thanks to Tony Todd for handling the burgers and brats!

There's going to be a big crowd at USM this evening. Teeing from the woods and playing 22 holes. Grilling up some grub after the round.

Anyone know how to get a hold of him?

He's on Facebook. I just sent him a message with your email address. He can let you know what to do with it.

Windy evening last week at USM.

Expecting a crowd this week. We'll be teeing off from The Oak Kiln near the baseball field. The course will have the two added temp holes for our 22 hole setup. Teeing at 6pm.

Gorgeous evening for disc golf at USM. Pretty much everyone had some killer shots and played some good golf last night, but one guy in particular had a stellar round.

New course record! Andy Jewett with ten birdies and one bogie for a 9 under 45. Nice shootin' Andy!

General Banter / Re: stolen basket
« on: May 02, 2013, 05:59:06 PM »
Every basket I've ever seen stolen had a damaged lock laying nearby. #16 at Clover Dell in Sedalia had a padlock that had been cut with bolt cutters and the lock had been left laying nearby. #11 at WyCo, same story, padlock in two pieces left by the empty pin. #4 at WyCo (twice) once there was a lock that had been hit with a hammer to pop it open and the next time a lock that had been cut with a hacksaw. This one shows no evidence of being cut so either someone had a key or possibly they hit it just right with a hammer depending on what type of lock it is. I'm no locksmith but I don't think it's very easy to pick a high quality padlock.

these stats are meaningless, should be tabulating driving distance, fairways made, greens in regualtion,
%accuracy from 20, 30, 40, 50+, you know what the cool stuff is, track it!

Yeah, you try that while drinking beer and enjoying yourself....   ::) I just select the course and players at the beginning of the round then try to remember to type in the scores after each hole. It does the rest.  8)

Awesome Tuesday evening at USM. We even got some students involved this week and let them try their skill throwing downhill on #15. One of the guys had played before and did pretty well, the other guy, not so much....

Rectangle?

I plan to play some disc golf at USM and end up at a wrecked angle....  (not really, but a couple of beers won't hurt)

Yeah, more surveillance by big brother, that's exactly what we need...   ::)

Hopefully it will turn up. Thieves do indeed suck..   >:(
