Eleven for league the Friday before I left on vacation. That's why the delayed reaction. I guess I had other things on my mind.

Arturo Villareal - 54
Tony Dutiel - 59
Sean Elliot - 66
Matt Hays - 69
Jesse Wallace - 79

Steve 'Doc' Norby - 62
Jeff Hoglund - 62
Jake Carmack - 63
Kevin Montgomery - 67
Mike Coleman - 74
Mark Hogins - 75

I think the range of scores shows that if we could get consistent participation an amateur or intermediate card would work well competition-wise at WyCo. I apologize to all of those that end up mismatched in their division.

WYCO / Workday 5/20

Thanks to Mark Hogins and Dalton Morrison for helping out last Saturday for an impromptu workday. Six gallons of herbicide was sprayed on poison ivy along #7, #10 and #11 & 12. And more clearing and trimming was done on #7 near the new placement in the woods as well as the rest of the fairway on the right. Also weedeating was done in the gaps on #4, #8, #9 and around the green on #11.

I plan to spray more poison ivy this weekend and hope to get the #1 basket fixed so I can move it to the original pin placement again.

Dan Coffman - 59
Brad Meyrs - 59

Jeff Hoglund - 59
Doc Norby - 63
Kevin Montgomery - 68

Friday looks like it's going to be another great night for disc golf at WyCo. The sun doesn't set until after 8:30. Bring your game and take a shot at the ace fund. Bring your cooler and we'll hang around for some putting competition after the round.

Tom, where are you brother, I miss your face. I hope you're doing well!

Eleven out for a breezy evening at WyCo. The course was partially mowed making for some interesting golf. The parks department mowed fairways on most of the holes and mowed well around the greens leaving rough outside of the fairways that was knee deep. It's fun to play it like that but I expect the course will be mowed completely for this Friday.

Scoring errors resulted in incorrect payouts in the masters division. Doc actually came in second rather than tying with Dan as originally stated and paid out. So, Doc and Dan need to settle up for $2.50. My bad....

Dave Hemmeline 54
Arturo Villareal 56
Rick Molenkamp 58
Ryan Shcultz 65
Cecil Cameron 116 (76 actually, what's up wit dat?)

Dan Coffman 60
Steven "Doc" Norby 62
Mark Morales 63
Jeff Hoglund 68
Kevin Montgomery 70
Mark Hogins 79

The long range forecast is calling for Friday to be an "excellent" day for disc golf. Mark it on your calendar and come on out this week to take a shot at the ace fund that's never been touched.

What a wet night for golf. It didn't rain the whole time but a good portion of it. Seven hardy souls showed up to play in fairly miserable weather at WyCo on Friday. The scores showed it too.

Dave Hemmeline - 59
Cecil Cameron - 65
Sean Molenkamp - 68
Rick Molenkamp - 68

Mark Morales - 66
Mark Hogins - 73

What a great crowd for Friday night league at WyCo. Mike Davis brought his golf cart out and it seems to have helped his game. A new course record - 49 - was set by Mike D.

21 players made it out for what could only be considered a perfect evening for disc golf. Still no aces at WyCo league but Doc gave it a serious run on #5 collecting $1 from each of us on the card by skipping off the edge of the basket. It's out there, come and get it.

The sun sets at 8:03pm this evening so we will be teeing off at 6:00pm. If you are planning to make it out to WyCo this evening now you have a little more time to get there.

The placements will begin moving gradually longer in the next few weeks as the days get longer. Look for some different pin placements in use next week. This week it is still set as it was for the second round of the Kan-U-WyCo for one final week.

Had a really good group out for a calm evening at WyCo. 5 Open and 7 Masters. Brad Merys had the hot round with a 53, nice shooting Brad. And Jeff Hoglund continued to impress by shooting a hot 55 in the masters division to hang on to the #5 tag. If he keeps playing like that he may just have that tag a while. He'd already defended it three times.

Brad Merys - 53  8)

WYCO / WyCo Workday - this Saturday - 2/25
« on: February 20, 2006, 11:39:18 AM »
We'll be having a workday this Saturday, 2/25. I plan to be there by 9:30 to get started. This will be to get the course ready for the Kan-U-WyCo that will be happening the Following Saturday, 3/4.

Items I'd like to accomplish:

 Clear out area on #7 for short pin and get it planted.
 Repair or replace some of the old rotten benches Mike and I made.
 Replace the pin on #4 original that got knocked out by a mower.
 Remove the funky tee-signs, not the signs themselves but the printed diagrams that I made and don't all look right.
 Hopefully replace those signs with better ones.
 Get the range finder and shoot the distances of the pins I don't have yet, only a few.
 Repair #17 long placement that got knocked loose.
 And finally, move the course all long for the first round of the tourney.

If you can make it out please do. I can use the help. I'll have my truck to haul things around and I should have most of the tools we'll need to do what's listed but if you have tools you want to bring that would be helpful. If you have questions just let me know here or call me - 816-830-0974

WYCO / WyCo Projects
« on: January 15, 2006, 12:49:21 PM »
The tee signs project for WyCo is at a standstill. If anyone can help me come up with good graphics for the signs I could use the help. We can either strip and repaint the existing signs or come up with something completely new. There is $1500 of club money earmarked for signs or benches. The parks department has informed me that they won't be helping us with the signs again this year due to manpower issues and the retirement of Mike Connors.

Also, we need a bridge of some sort from #9 to #10 across the ditch for when it is wet. Poison ivy will still be a major problem this year. I have lots of Round-Up Pro and a sprayer but could use some help to get this done once things start greening up again. Major areas for poison ivy are along #10 and along #7.

Only one new pin planned at this point, short right #7. The #4 original pin was knocked down by a mower and will need to be replaced. The pin was not bent too badly so I have it to clean up and replant.

#1 needs attention. the pole the basket it on needs to be re-drilled so the basket height we be correct and several inches need to be cut off so it can be moved to the left and right placements. Also there is no stanchion on it for a flag. It's the only pin with no flag. Pete Cashen has said he could help with this but the basket needs to be taken to his shop. If anyone has the power tools to do this onsite it would be helpful.

Workdays will take place soon as the first tourney of the season will be the Kan-U-WyCo on March 4th.
