Excellent evening at USM until the skeeters went on the rampage just as our rounds ended. Had to high-tail it outta there.

We had fourteen out on an otherwise nice evening. The heat dissipated as a front moved around us and it was a little breezy. Lots of tags changed hands, no aces but several ace runs. I'm missing a scorecard but here's what I have so far:

Scores
Aaron Johnson - 49
Tony Todd - 53
Kevin Montgomery - 57
doc Norby - 58
Tyler Forbes - 58
Aaron Miller - 61
Kevin Pike - 61
Phil Brite - 64
Brandon Forbes - 66
Adam Richter - 71

Missing scores for Dustin H, Peter Tady, Rich Carroll, and Josh Case.

Ace fund is now back over $160. We'll be doing our Frontier Open warm-up round next Tuesday but please be ready to tee off at 5:45 next week.

Yes, one shot. If you hit metal or an ace, you get points. No putting, no approaches. Really fun.

And holes will be set super short.

It's going to be a hot one again this week. Last week was hot but not many of the scores were. The young guns took the top spots this week with Tyler shooting a very nice 55 and Aaron Miller coming in behind with a 56. Us old guys had better step it up....

Scores
Tyler Forbes - 55
Aaron Miller - 56
Peter Tady - 57
Tony Todd - 58
doc Norby - 62
Kevin Montgomery - 62
Brandon Forbes - 63

Ace fund keeps climbing - It's over $130. Teeing off this week as close to 6pm or before as possible. Don't be late. We'll be moving it earlier, 5:45, starting next week.

I have never used a Mojo.  What is it?

Nice memory there Otter, I had forgotten about that....

The Mojo is what the Juju was first called. But they changed the name to Juju after initially releasing it and getting a cease and desist from another company that had already trademarked the name Mojo, or something like that. Don't know all the other details.

Yah less than a mile from me house!  Thanks to Olathe P&R it's mowed weekly.   And... thanks to master Bomb Tutler!

Gotta throw my kudos to Bomb Tutler in there too....  Awesome job on this course by all who had a hand in it and by Olathe Parks for taking such good care of it thus far. Nice addition to the KC area courses indeed. Well done!

Liberty, MO - Stocksdale Park / What's in a name?
« on: August 14, 2014, 11:33:36 AM »
As soon as this course gets an official name we can update the heading on the forum. But for now this name is pretty descriptive.

Have at it! Directions to the course, course map, etc....  8)

Are you sure you're not thinking of Brodie Smith? Brody Miller appears to be a local pro from Portland. Brodie Smith is the ultimate guy that does all the trick shots.

Good Day, Is the USM league on for tomorrow evening? and if so, is it still a 6pm start, where do you gather, and about what time do you finish up?  Thank you--

Yes, it's still on and still starting at 6pm. I won't be there due to work obligations but the usual crowd should be there with Tony taking ace fund money.

Number one teebox is near a place we call the Oak Kiln. Coming from the south on K7 you come in the main paved entrance (Sisters of Charity) by turning left (west) just north of 4th Street and Muncie (just past the light where Danny Zeck Ford is) then go up the hill to just about where the road forks. There will be a yellow post on the right as well. Turn right (north) there onto a gravel road that goes over to where the baseball players park near the ball field. That's where we meet and tee off.

If you don't find an owner and it's a cool one, I would make you an offer.

And I'll likely make you a better offer...   :D
