Clover Dell Park / Work Day Saturday March 5th
« on: February 25, 2016, 03:36:16 pm »
IT'S OFFICIAL! There will be a major work day at Clover Dell park on Saturday March 5th (rain date Saturday March 12th). Sedalia Boy Scout Troop 61 will be out in force to help us remove cedar trees from the front nine to make it as playable and enjoyable as it should be. There are other projects in mind pending discussions with the parks department. We'd like to see as many folks out as possible to make quick work of this and get as much accomplished as possible. Chainsaws and other tools along with trailers for hauling trees will be useful but able bodies are the most important thing.

Clover Dell is way overdue for some love Let's give her some!

Does anyone have a code for PDGA renewal discount?

Renew through the club and the KCFDC will get a portion of your renewal fee. Rick at DGW can handle that for you. Give him a call.

Here is a thread that covers this: http://kcfdc.org/forum/index.php?topic=6997.0

General Banter / Re: No Disc Golf carts?
« on: February 10, 2016, 09:29:21 am »
Like on a ball golf course if the course doesn't have cart paths then it shouldn't be allowed. That would just invite damage to the course. The only time a golf cart should be allowed on a disc golf course is for a TD on a large course during a tournament for convenience or to aid in setup in my opinion.

Of course the manual pull-behind or push carts are common and fine to use. I have a re-purposed jogging stroller I use sometimes while others have cool carts built specifically for disc golf.

#12 Chili my vote

I forget what numbers Rhonda and Chris were but Mike was #2. Mine was #9 and seemed to be pretty popular. It was an empty pot pretty quickly after the judging ended. Should have made a bigger batch I guess. There were lots of delicious concoctions to be had. I tried at least five different styles, all quite tasty. I think it's great that so many people brought chili for all the Ice Bowlers to enjoy. I didn't get the full count but I know there were over 20 different entries in the contest. Good times for sure.

Anybody know who won Chili contest?
I tried 4 different ones, and they were all great.

Also how much money was actually raised....or is that some kind of secret?

Mike Mannering won the chili contest with a smoked pork chili
Rhonda Crosby was second and Chris Lee took third.

I'll start! Speed 9 (or so) understable drivers: awesome, or really awesome? What's your favorite? Can you pick just one?

I can't. I could throw a bag full of nothing but Sidewinders, Roadrunners, Hatchets, and Valkyries all day long. . .

I like the Valkyrie best among that list. But it depends a lot on the plastic and weight too. I currently have been throwing a 158 Star but mix it up with a 150 Champion for downhill shots without too much wind. If it a little breezy I break out the max weight SE from back in the day.

whats the best BBQ spots around?

That's a loaded question if ever I heard one. You will get many different responses to that in KC. But I suspect many will answer Joe's KC, Gates and Sons, Arthur Bryant's, or......   There are lots of choices almost all quite good. If you like BBQ you have come to the right place! Wyandotte, Rosedale, LC's, All Slabbed Up (Leavenworth) on and on and on.....

    • If so will there be a place on the forum for it?
    • Is there a map available yet? Even a rough one?

I have added the board under SMP.

I included a link to the map under the new board.
