The DUI is a singles tourney. Not many doubles tourneys in KC. Be neat to have a PDGA sanctioned XC tier at Blue Valley though.

When you're a KCFDC member and you pay your $5, you have paid for the ace fund, correct?

Correct

Speaking of which...Kan-U-Wyco will most likely fill up also....

Pre-registration strongly recommended. We had 81 at Wyco last year in a cold rain. If the weahter is half way decent it will likely fill. It will go smoother if most people are pre-registered. Online pre-registration is now available. Check the Kan-U-WyCo thread.

I have set a maximum of 90 for the Kan-U-WyCo which would put fivesomes on every hole. It will still make for a long day but daylight savings time starts that day. With patience and nice weather I expect it will turn out to be a nice tourney this year.

Have fun in St. Louis. Hope you all get to play if you are making the trip. I had considered it but I'm not going to make the drive if I'm not garanteed a spot at this point. I'll just go do some work out at Wyco instead  ;D

Speaking of Aces. It's not listed on the flier but there will be an ace fund that day. It will be the KDGA roling ace fund that will be getting started the day before at the Colwich tourney. I suspect it will be a $2 ace fund payable upon check-in on the 11th.

Seems a nerve has been struck with the Olathe crew.

My first volunteer effort for the KCFDC was as assistant course director during the 1994 Wide Open with Ned Smethers at Prairie Center when the course wasn't nearly as nice. Rubber-tub-home-made baskets and dirt tees with a less flexible, shorter, layout.

I suspect the reason it gets overlooked for events such as this is simply. location. If a large number of people have to drive between rounds or even in the morning from a distance it makes a differnece to how the event is perceived by out-of-towners. That's my .02.

I don't think anyone is disparaging the course. Quite the contrary. Most folks I've talked to have nothing but good things to say about PC and the recent changes. But I have nothing to do with it so.....  c-ya.

Supported the Event with Package Purchase, but not in attendance
204   Nick   Arbeitman
207   Ted   Keith

For the record. I carried on conversations with both of these guys on Sunday. Nick was watching the CTP for a bit and Ted bought his package and hung out for a bit before heading to a prior engagement. So, not total wimps.....   ;D

Our esteemed club president, Jack Lowe, took top honors this year. He finally got his formula right it seems. I wouldn't know. It was apparently quite good. He had a pretty good sized batch and it was gone by the time I got to it. I'm not sure how many entries there were but I had the number twelve on my pot. There's a lot of good chili at this event for sure.

Thanks go to Mark Morales for lining up the judges and getting the contest going this year.

Great coverage for disc golf in Kansas City and world wide even.

Kudos to Steve Glover for putting such a positive face on this year's Ice Bowl!

I'll have some nice University of Saint Mary clothing and stuff for CTP prizes as well.

As usual there should be plenty of prizes to choose from so sign up for the CTP and play early and often!!!!

Tournaments / Re: Local Tourneys???
« on: January 24, 2007, 04:09:39 pm »
All of these tourneys have now been scheduled and were listed on the flyer that went out recently (Don't have it handy). Except for the Glass Blown Open and Capital City Classic. They have nothing to do with KCFDC but are KDGA events. Capital City isn't scheduled yet that I can see. Check here for the Oz tour schedule, the GBO is listed:

http://www.kansasdiscgolf.com/kdga/content/view/131/42/

I do know that the Kan-U-WyCo is scheduled for Sunday March 11th this year and is planned as a PDGA C tier/KDGA Oz Tour and KCFDC event.
