The threat of rain and storms didn't scare too many away. It started raining lightly just as the last card came in. Fourteen out for some good disc golf but no aces yet.

I traded #64 for #16 at Cliff Drive Monday evening. I got Jack by one stroke and Chappy by two. Admittedly, they had pretty rough games. Jack was played out from his big finish Down Under the day before and Chappy had an ugly OB. But, my putting was pretty solid Monday so I like to think I earned it.

WYCO / Re: Ever Played in extreme wind?
« on: March 26, 2007, 09:42:40 AM »
Playing in a strong wind is one of the biggest challenges in disc golf. It seems to come down to disc selection. Like you said, discs that normally hyzer out are flipping on you and vice versa. Into a headwind you want to throw something more stable to extremely stable like a Firebird or Monster. With a strong tailwind something understable like an XS or a Sidewinder. You can even throw a high profile midrange like a Roc or a Buzzz as a driver if the tailwind is strong enough. For strong right to left and left to right winds it's a variation of above.

The best thing to do is get out in the wind and learn what your discs do in different conditions with the wind coming from different directions. Eventually you should get to where you can count on them doing what you expect.

How'd it go? I wasn't able to be there but I'd like to hear how it went.

There will be a limited supply of nice full color quad-fold brochures available any day now. I'm sure Jack will chime in here when they are available. They were on display at Tuesday's meeting and headed for press this week.

That's why there's only one round for the Ams on Sunday morning. There will be a rolling start for the pros at Swope so the Ams will be finishing up and heading to Swope about the time the lead card starts. We will be able to watch most of the lead card's final round at Swope after playing a morning final round in the Am divisions.

Rats...   I heard a rumor and started spreading it myself that the pros would get to play WyCo. The several pros I mentioned it to seemed pretty interested in that.

As long as you don't make the Advanced Mastes play Swope Gold again I'll be a happy camper......    ;D

I think the DU trash cans are pretty much our responsibility. I wouldn't expect the city to venture down there to empty cans. This is something someone can probably do Saturday while working on the course.

Have the trash cans been getting emptied at all at Rosie? Is there a dumpster there if someone wanted to empty them themselves?

We will be teeing off at exactly 5:30pm this evening.

Be there in time to get your name on a card before 5:30. That will give us a little more than two hours since sunset this evening is 7:28. That won't leave time to dilly-dally though. We'll do that after the round.

I went from #20 to #19 last night but I declined the #19 tag because it was badly broken. So, I'm still at #20. Unless somebody with a really high number takes #19 Bill just may have it all season as bad off as it is.....  ;D

The dates of this years Wide Open are:

KCWO - June 22-24th (PDGA NT)

As for sponsorship info you need to get with Dan or Jack. They should have a packet available for distribution.

So, do you feel a little over exposed after all the media attention....    ;D ;D ;D
