T Ruder is Tracey Ruder from Hays KS.

It was T Butler, not T Ruder. Tracy probably hasn't played Olathe in ages....

Tom Butler. He's local and you should be able to catch him out there at league on Monday's. Or I suppose he'll chime in here at some point and you can connect with him.

WYCO / 6/16 League
« on: June 19, 2006, 03:22:09 PM »
There was no league on 6/9 due to the KC Wide Open being in town. So don't look for scores from that date.

Ten players showed up for a special edition league at WyCo on the 16th. I cleaned up the overgrown area near the creek on #4 and we played to it with a very small window into the green from the fairway... fun and challenging, unless you bypass all that and go over the top like Doc did for the par. Also, I put #14 in it's original placement and moved the #15 basket to the short #14 pin and we threw to it from below the pond. It's a short blind hole with a small window. I gave away two CTP prizes on this hole, one on each card. Doc won a new CE something or other (I thought it was a Valk but he says it's a TL), and Arturo took home a new Wizard.

Open
Arturo Villareal - 56 (I have $13 too much in my pouch, did I forget to pay you Arturo? Someone ask him for me if you see him please. If so, I'll catch you this week I hope.)
Michael Haines - 60
Quintin Street - 61
Dan Coffman - 61
Marshall Wolfe - 65

Masters
Steven 'Doc' Norby - 62
Kevin Montgomery - 68
Jim Sherwood - 75
Mark Hogins - 78
Steve Hoog - 79

I'll be stretching out a few holes this Friday to take advantage of the extended daylight during solstice week. Come on out!!

Still no aces hit during league at WyCo.

Eleven for league the Friday before I left on vacation. That's why the delayed reaction. I guess I had other things on my mind.

Open
Arturo Villareal - 54
Tony Dutiel - 59
Sean Elliot - 66
Matt Hays - 69
Jesse Wallace - 79

Masters
Steve 'Doc' Norby - 62
Jeff Hoglund - 62
Jake Carmack - 63
Kevin Montgomery - 67
Mike Coleman - 74
Mark Hogins - 75

I think the range of scores shows that if we could get consistent participation an amateur or intermediate card would work well competition-wise at WyCo. I apologize to all of those that end up mismatched in their division.

I think the Solstice is at Swope this year Kevin.

By golly, Chappy's post even said that didn't it. Last year it was at Rosie and it didn't register that they moved it. My bad....  I expect it will still be a good one to check out.

Not much info available on the Lawrence tourney just yet. It was originally going to be a KDGA Oz Tour event in Manhattan but they moved it to Lawrence. Here's a link to the thread about it at the KDGA website:

The Solstice Doubles at Rosedale will be a good one too. This is the second year for it and last year was a good time from what I heard. I was unable to make it last year but I hope to this year.

Nice article. Tim O'Neill sweeping the pads....  The KCFDC is getting some well deserved public credit for cleaning up yet another neglected KC park. What a great bunch of citizens...     8)

A big THANKS to Andy for running WyCo league on the 2nd while I was out of town.   :D

I'll be out there this Friday the 16th with a special edition league. I plan to clean up #4 in the woods and move the pin there.

Also, I'm going to move #14 to the original placement and we'll play #15 from below the pond to the short #14 pin. We'll be teeing from the grass but that tee was once part of the layout and I hope to pour a pad there sometime this year for an official alternate.

I'll have a choice CTP prize for the #15 alternate pin!!   8)

Bring it on out to WyCo this Friday for some challenging golf to kick off the weekend.

I didn't get to play last weekend because of the open...

You should have gone to play one of the other courses in town that weren't being used for the Wide Open. WyCo and Olathe were available all weekend. And Blue Valley was a festival atmosphere on Sunday with the junior nine hole course available to play all weekend as well. Hindsight being what it is however...  I hope you get plenty of disc golf in this week.

I'll be doing a special edition WyCo league Friday evening with some basket moves and a CTP prize.

Dan and Pete now have all of the lost and found from the weekend. Dan took home an assortment of discs and a couple of cameras. Pete had an assortment of discs and a pair of sunglasses at Rosedale on Sunday.

Beginners / question for a rookie....

One of the best players in town is ambidextrous. CD Steiner. He won the pro master division at the Wide Open this weekend. Being able to throw with either hand should be considered a great advantage I would think.

Of course it might help to be a little taller than him.....
