When you say the original position, you mean down by the tennis courts right? Yeah, that would be considered a good shot...   8)

The issue with the forehand roller isn't so much that it isn't a good shot to know so much as the fact that there are places you simply wouldn't be able to use it. For instance, do you use that shot down under? I don't see how a forehand roller would work very well down there with all the trees in the way. Of course, I don't have much of a forehand roller so it wouldn't occur to me to try it either.

Yep you read it right, the tee pads are done for the Championship course. They were poured saterday just in time for hopefully what will be the last freeze of the season. They will be ripe once the ground dries out and ready for action. Thanks for the help Will, Tim, Kelly, Larry, Arturo and crew. Thanks for this aswome course Dan and Jim, your time is much appreciated.

Tournaments / The Last Redbud Open - Ted's Dread - April 15th
« on: March 21, 2006, 05:51:58 PM »
After much discussion and conference with the PDGA it has been decided not to sanction the event. Sorry to those whose hopes I am dashing. This decision was made based upon several things.

1. This is the last Redbud and many non-PDGA members will be playing for nostalgic reasons. No point in dinking them for $5 extra.
2. A sanctioned event imposes limitations on consumption during the round. This event is intended as a celebration as well as a tourney. We don't want to dictate this behavior during the Redbud.
3. It is already an Oz Tour event. KDGA members get Oz Tour points no matter what.
4. This is a KCFDC event so bag tags will be in play.
5. Have no fear, it will still be a professionally run tournament with solid payouts and certified officials.

The Gateway boys just got back to St Louis, it seems the showing for the team went quite well!

Lets see 1st, 2nd and 4th in the open and 1st in the advanced ( Way to go Nikko!!!) He my Nephew and has been playing quite welll lately.
I guess his score would have had him in 4th in open!

Is there any chance we could see some KC players In St Louis for our "A" Tier event, the ST Louis Open on May 21-22?

Yes, yes, quite the showing from team Gateway. Thanks for coming to WyCo. I hope the guys enjoyed the course and I hope they can play it again in better weather. It looks like the St. Louis Open is up against the Doo Dah down in Wichita. You do mean 20th-21st right? Unfortunate. I still have yet to play any courses in St. Louis. I hear they are prime time. I'll spread the word. Thanks again for lighting up WyCo. It was quite the day, foul weather and all.

Thanks again to all of the players that came out. I'm still winding down. Look for PDGA ratings to be posted soon. I sent in the scores earlier today.

I'd like to give a huge thanks to all the folks that stepped up to give me a hand yesterday. Mike Penney and Dan Cashen moved fifteen baskets between rounds and Dan played the second round too. Thanks to Ed Gonzales for running the CTP and helping me with the cards, to Quinten Street for general advice with the board and to Steve Hoog for jumping in early and making up cards while I dealt with registration.

And without question, huge thanks to all the disc golfers that came out on a crappy day to play a challenging long course. That's true dedication to the sport. The comments about the course and event have been really great. It's truly a pleasure to get such good feedback on all the work that has gone in to designing and maintaining the course. It will only get better.

I may not be able to but I will post this offer to the KDGA board post haste as it may be the additional incentive needed to bring some folks in from out of town that may be on the fence about making the trip. Do you think he would mind a camper or two overnight Saturday?

As much as I know you love the rope, I regret to inform that the course will be played sans rope this year. Simply not enough time, energy or interest to lay it out there. We'll try to make it intersting for you nonetheless. The second round will include the pond shot on #14 and a brand new never-been-used-before placement in the woods on #7.

By the way... have you ever dialed 1-800-BIG-DISC?

Sorry for the confusion. I'm not sure where you're seeing the wrong info. It should read $40 for open and $30 for all other pro divisions. That would mean the geezers and women pay $30. I have not contracted with AARP for the seniors discount so you'll have to take advantage of that at lunch.

I have a list of out of towners that keeps growing.

Rain or no rain, WyCo will be rockin' on Saturday.
