Just throw your least favorite disc at it to scare it away. Unless it's rabid it will run off. Bobcats aren't aggressive at all.

Or you could "use the force Luke".

I went last year and wish I could make it this year but it's not meant to be this time around.

I used Priceline and got a really good price on a hotel not far from Seymour. I think we paid $68 for two nights. If you can make it up I encourage you to do so. Mr. Bill runs a fine event.

Actually, it is in the PDGA course directory. I was confused because of the course name and location. According to Mapquest Council Bluffs is only a ten minute drive from Omaha. I'm not familiar with the area.

A couple of new faces to WyCo league last week it seems. Both Mike Penny and Corbett haven't been out there this year until now. Still getting a good group each week too. It looks like WyCo league has finally caught on  8)

See you out there this Friday!

General Banter / new courses in S Jackson county?

Wood-Z was far from an amateur player. He celebrated 30 years in disc golf at the last Redbud Open. He most recently played pro masters and his last rating with the PDGA was 939 as a pro. He's played extensively on many, many courses. Ted, on the other hand, had not played disc golf when he met Wood-Z.

Wood-Z had plenty of experience to draw from as a course designer and it showed.

On the campus of the University of Saint Mary. It's a private school so you need to let someone know you plan to come play it. Usually just a PM or e-mail to me will do it. But it's pretty accessible. Only three pins in the ground so far. Four more coming soon and then a fund raiser event is an idea I have to get the other two basket for a full nine hole course.

Much of the course is still in the planning stage before pins go in though.

Come on out to WyCo for this evenings league. The fairway on #7 should play a little easier without all the dead limbs that used to hang down. An impromptu workday on July 4th resulted in quite a pile of dead limbs cut down and hauled to the road. Hope to see you there.

Give me a time and I'll plan on giving you the tour and discussing potential layouts. Thanks. Anyone else interested in coming out to check it out that day is welcome. Just PM me or discuss it here.

I think the article you are referring to was written by Greg Hosfeld, but I agree too.

So how's about someone with more experience than me coming up to help me with the design at Saint Mary in Leavenworth?

I'm not sure why Bob thinks you're lazy but he does make some good points. I must say, having hiked around Monkey Mountain years ago that place would make a cool disc golf course. I think too many people use it for hiking and other things though. Disc golf courses tend to work best in parks that are previously under utilized. As Bob said, check with the powers that be and see if anything is in the works. If not, put the bug in their ear and contact the KCFDC.
