Ted has a family member next door to the east who may let him bleed the course over that way. He is selling the land to the west, #s 1 through 10 & #18. The rest of the course land he will still have. He may move those holes to the east and keep #11 through #17 the way they are. Nothing definite yet at all but the course as we know it will be gone.

It looks like the Redbud Open will be going out with a bang this year. Wood-Z says the land sale probably won't be complete by 4/15 and wants to do the event up big.

Camping Friday and Saturday night with a pre-tourney party and some glow Friday evening and a bash Saturday night.

I had already alerted Smitty to this. After talking to Wood-Z we are hoping to get in one last Redbud Open there. Wood-Z promised to make an up or down decision about whether the course will still be there at least 30 days prior to the date we have it scheduled for.

Hadn't really given it much thought. I guess it could be a C or D tier event. I just have to get the paperwork in 30 days in advance I think. I'll look into it.

The tee signs project for WyCo is at a standstill. If anyone can help me come up with good graphics for the signs I could use the help. We can either strip and repaint the existing signs or come up with something completely new. There is $1500 of club money earmarked for signs or benches. The parks department has informed me that they won't be helping us with the signs again this year due to manpower issues and the retirement of Mike Connors.

Also, we need a bridge of some sort from #9 to #10 across the ditch for when it is wet. Poison ivy will still be a major problem this year. I have lots of Round-Up Pro and a sprayer but could use some help to get this done once things start greening up again. Major areas for poison ivy are along #10 and along #7.

Only one new pin planned at this point, short right #7. The #4 original pin was knocked down by a mower and will need to be replaced. The pin was not bent too badly so I have it to clean up and replant.

#1 needs attention. the pole the basket it on needs to be re-drilled so the basket height we be correct and several inches need to be cut off so it can be moved to the left and right placements. Also there is no stanchion on it for a flag. It's the only pin with no flag. Pete Cashen has said he could help with this but the basket needs to be taken to his shop. If anyone has the power tools to do this onsite it would be helpful.

Workdays will take place soon as the first tourney of the season will be the Kan-U-WyCo on March 4th.

All I know is that no aces have ever been hit during WyCo league. Ever!

I saw an ace on #7 down under at 12/3/05 doubles league but I don't recall the guys name. It was John or Sean but the running joke was that what got written on the card looked like Judo so that's what we called him all round. TJ was my partner. Who was that TJ?

Yeah, those trailer locks have been a PITA since they were first used there. A guy had to carry around a giant ring of keys and then keep track of which one was which. Not sure who to talk to about getting a good deal on the common jkeyed locks. Maybe someone else seeing this will chime in with that info. Penney, Jack?

This situation is simply due to the type of lock that was put in at PC. They are the cylinder locks you would see on boat trailers and the like. Each one is keyed unique. At all other courses we use a steel pin bent at one end so it won't go all the way through with a hole for a padlock drilled into the other end. These are manufactured by the brothers Cashen for us. If we were to change PC over to the same scheme used elsewhere in town we would need them to make us a set of those pins and then purchase keyed alike padlocks in the quantity necessary.

You did the right thing. It got a reaction out of me and prompted me to get the info posted. We now have an official flyer for the event in color and black and white. They will be getting posted at the courses over the next few days and on the website today. Here's a link to the black and white version of the flyer. PM me if you want the color version:
