WYCO / WyCo League 8/26 to 9/23 (Getting caught up)
« on: September 29, 2005, 10:06:53 am »
Sorry for the lapse in posting scores. Life's basic interruptions. For instance, I'm a new grandfather for the third time. Marshall Kevin Bergen was born on Tuesday 9/20 -  :D

8/26 League:

Dave Hemmeline makes his presence known by hitting the first birdie I've seen on #4 in the woods.

Dave Hemmeline   54
Cecil Cameron   55
Rick Molenkamp   61
Brad Meyrs   62
Peter Tady   66

9/2 League:

Rick Molenkamp   59
Kevin Montgomery   69
Trevor   70
AVG   63.75

9/9 League:

Thanks to Rick Molenkamp for running league while I was off playing in Hays. The grass was knee high but a hardy group played with trimmed tee pads and a path someone mowed from pad to basket.

Open
Dave Hemmeline   54
Dick Parker   56
Cecil Cameron   57
Kelly Babbit   58
Mike Davis   58
Rick Molenkamp   60
Tom Butler   64
Tavish Sanders   73
AVG   60

9/16 League:

A good group but guys from the open division left and I didn't get their card. I don't know scores and don't remember who all was there. If someone that was there sees this and can get the info to me I would really appreciate it.

Open
Card is Missing
Dick Parker won
Masters
Dan Coffman   57
Steve Norby   62
John Buckle   62
Kevin Montgomery   68
AVG   62.25

9/23 League:

Getting started right at 5:30 now. We finished in plenty of time with three cards of three playing. The course is now set almost completely short and will be for the rest of the season. Dave Hemmeline and Dan Coffman both continued their domination of their respective divisions by consistently playing well. Not to be out done, Mike Davis hit a birdie on #4 in the woods this week as well.

Open
Dave Hemmelin   54
Mike Davis   55
Cecil Cameron   57
Rick Molenkamp   58
Masters
Dan Coffman   57
Ted Keith   58
Paul Eklund   65
Kevin Montgomery   67
Dave Hoglund   69
AVG   60

We will be teeing off at prompty 5:30 this Friday, 9/30. If you are planning to be there and are running late please call - 816-830-0974.

The ace fund is now over $700. There's never been a league ace at WyCo... lots of metal but nothing has stayed in the basket. Dave Hemmeline nailed #5 last week, but alas, it was not meant to be.

Water Works / Price and time?
« on: September 29, 2005, 08:41:21 am »
Water Works league is just like other leagues in town. $5 for members withthe ace fund. Tee off is probably around 5:30 right now because of the increasingly early sunset.

If you are talking abotu the glow league it tees off around 6:00pm after daylight savings time ends and is the same price. They have separate ace fund and play doubles most of the time I think.

So how did the RAC go? I wish I could have made it. It looks like the weather eventually cooperated and it was a good day for disc golf. Score? Attendance?

Rosedale / tag matches
« on: September 15, 2005, 11:24:30 am »
We did the bag tag thing on 2003 and 2004 but took a year off because the format wasn't working. We plan to do it again in 2006.

Thanks for running a great event Brett and Brandon! A little less wind... yeah, that'd be nice.

Props to CD for taking 2nd in Masters. The advanced masters guys didn't fair as well but did have a great time on a truly great course. The design of the additional holes was excellent. Interesting use of trees and roads on D and E.

You guys from KC that didn't make it out need to consider it for next year. This is a really well run event on one of the best courses I have ever played. Eighty-seven people played this year from six different states. It was a great crowd. I'm already looking forward to next year!!

Cliff Drive / How about a putting game?
« on: August 31, 2005, 05:03:14 pm »
That's exactly what a round 9 basket is supposed to look like. I don't know if all of the stones are still there but the practice basket at Rosedale has incremental stones like that and it is great for practicing your putting. They go from about three or four feet out to about thirty.

There's four of us from the KCFDC coming. We hope to make it in time for doubles but that will remain to be seen. Leaving town about noon on the 9th

Kevin, CD, Doc and Ed.

Anyone else from KC heading out?

I'm telling you, you need to play Hays!!  This is a great time on a great course.

Where's the player's party this year? Last year was a blast. I remember that girl from Colorado getting hit in the head with a mini that was thrown from across the room. She and her boyfriend were good sports about it. Especially after I bought her a shot of whiskey as compensation.

What kind of animal is that supposed to be?! Looks like a racoon with antlers wearing flowered overalls. That's not going to be on the tournament discs is it?

WYCO / 8/19 League
« on: August 24, 2005, 05:08:36 pm »
Five showed up for league but only three played. Two were on their way to Omaha for A Call to Arms, myself and Doc. We got things going and hit the road.

It was a nice evening for golf and Tom Butler proved it with a nice 58.

Open
Tom Butler   58
Dean Uhlman   63
Ned Smethers   69
AVG   63.33

It was good to see Ned Smethers. Thanks for paying us a visit old friend. You can wear your KCFDC t-shirt proudly back in Kentucky. (Wash it a couple times first though. The dye on them will come off on you if you don't give it a wash or two.)
