You may find someone in the club with new discs for sale at league on Mondays. I have discs for sale at Friday league at WyCo. There's a really nice z-flash at the bottom of the pond at Ted's Dread if you have some SCUBA gear. It's yours if you retrieve it...

I like the Crush but have been hearing a lot of good things about the Surge. Depends on what you are looking for. Both are pretty over stable discs.

He left it Wide Open? Like the KC Wide Open. Yeah, all po-dunk DG towns have an event like that every year. Eight permanent courses with more on the way....  Somehow po-dunk doesn't seem to fit.

I believe the originator of this thread was comparing us to a po-dunk town as an insult to the fact we don't have weekend leagues and some of the "smaller" towns do is all. I take no offense and agree with him.

As far as the website getting updated, Sean has set up several people with the ability to update it and it still occasionally languishes so it's not all his fault. There's always this discussion board though. It tends to get updated daily, if not hourly by somebody with too much time on their hands....  uh.... bye

The only weekend league that's been discussed in recent years is a doubles league. Kinda hard to do the bag tag challenge playing doubles anyway. I agree that it could probably be successful, singles or doubles, but no one has stepped up to run it.

I'll be out of town this week so Andy Lewis has been kind enough to agree to run league for the club this Friday - 5/5/06. Thanks Andy!

What a wet night for golf. It didn't rain the whole time but a good portion of it. Seven hardy souls showed up to play in fairly miserable weather at WyCo on Friday. The scores showed it too.

Dave Hemmeline - 59
Cecil Cameron - 65
Sean Molenkamp - 68
Rick Molenkamp - 68

Mark Morales - 66
Mark Hogins - 73
Kevin Montgomery - 74

What a great crowd for Friday night league at WyCo. Mike Davis brought his golf cart out and it seems to have helped his game. A new course record - 49 - was set by Mike D.

21 players made it out for what could only be considered a perfect evening for disc golf. Still no aces at WyCo league but Doc gave it a serious run on #5 collecting $1 from each of us on the card by skipping off the edge of the basket. It's out there, come and get it.

Open (7)
Mike Davis 49
Arturo Vilareal 52
Alan Dibos 53
Carson Wilson 56
Rick Molenkamp 59
Dave Zentz 61
Sean Molenkamp 62

Masters (10)
Pete Cashen 55 (Carrying #1)
Bryan Guthrie 56
Dan Coffman 57
Doc Norby 58

Rick Rothstein 63
Steve Hoog 67
Kevin Montgomery 68

Advanced (4)
Tony Dutiel 63
Nick Parks 64

Come on out and make a night of it next Friday.

The sun sets at 8:03pm this evening so we will be teeing off at 6:00pm. If you are planning to make it out to WyCo this evening now you have a little more time to get there.

The placements will begin moving gradually longer in the next few weeks as the days get longer. Look for some different pin placements in use next week. This week it is still set as it was for the second round of the Kan-U-WyCo for one final week.

Had a really good group out for a calm evening at WyCo. 5 Open and 7 Masters. Brad Merys had the hot round with a 53, nice shooting Brad. And Jeff Hoglund continued to impress by shooting a hot 55 in the masters division to hang on to the #5 tag. If he keeps playing like that he may just have that tag a while. He'd already defended it three times.

Open (5)
Brad Merys - 53  8)
Cecil Cameron - 56
Alan Dibois - 57
Sean Molenkamp - 57
Rick Molenkamp - 60

Masters (7)
Jeff Hoglund - 55
Dan Coffman - 57
David Hoglund - 60
Ted Keith - 61
Ed Gonzales - 63 (nice shooting Ed)
Kevin Montgomery - 73
Mark Hagin - 73

That's pretty hard to read there Jack. Looks like you have several dates strung together and it isn't in any order that I can see. But thanks for getting it out there anyway.

Tournaments / Finals for the Redbud Open!!
« on: April 18, 2006, 04:38:19 PM »
Well, here you have it, the results of the final Redbud Open and the last formal event to be held at Ted's Dread. If you didn't make it out you missed a great time and some great golf.

A huge thanks goes out to Jeff "Wood-Z" Woods and to Ted Kubicki for all of the time, effort and money they put in to building and maintaining this great layout for the past five years. It's a private course without some of the amenities of public courses but the layout is a classic. It will be missed but remembered fondly.

Wood-Z celebrated 30 years of disc golf with quite the fireworks display after the rounds were over courtesy of Mother Nature. Lightning, hail, wind and finally a funnel cloud gave us a display that won't soon be forgotten. I hope the lump on Wood-Z's head is going away after being beaned by a golf-ball sized hail stone while diving for cover. The excitement only added to a great evening of BBQ and beverages after the tourney.

Also thanks to the KCFDC for providing water jugs, the scoreboard and many local players for the event, the bag tags were flying back and forth all day. The KDGA stepped up with some nice prizes even though only five members actually played the event. Thanks for coming up Mike Schoenhofer and we look forward to getting your course evaluation. And also thanks to Kevin Babbit for coming up but he got most of his thanks already by taking home the 1st Place trophy and a wad of cash for winning open. Nice shooting - CONGRATS!

Dave McCormack from Gateway Discs made it over from Saint Louis with plastic to sweeten the Am prizes. A big thanks to him for the donation, making the drive and I'm glad Nikko finished out the day to take some open cash. Now some of you KCFDC guys return the favor and get over to Saint Louis and give them a run for their money in May.

Oh, and even though there were no aces this year I'd be remiss if I didn't toot my own horn a bit by pointing out that I did take some cash for hitting metal on #2. A beautiful ace run that missed going in by hitting the side of the basket about two inches low while hyzering in "almost" perfectly. Missed it by "" that much (in my best Don Adams voice).

And now for the scores:
