It was on the Vinland Grade School.

Old Pike / Objects for display at Old Pike
« on: September 20, 2010, 09:45:46 AM »
There's quite alot of objects on alot of different holes to talk about both during and after every round.
My hole is the over the pond hole. Discglover's Sink Or Swim
I am looking for someone willing to donate or help locate a straight mannequin arm and or a large rubber alligator.
Then I would need someone to help me fabricate the alligator with red LED eyes that are solar powered. I would also like to install a motion sensor in the gator so it woud move and the eyes light up when someone walks by.
Surely I can find some fiendish fellows willing to create some fun.

General Banter / Playstation Commercial
« on: September 14, 2010, 09:59:42 AM »
The Playstation Move commercial was on Sunday when I was watching football.
The very first game they show them playing is disc golf.
It had a big display of a basket on their TV while the kids were putting.
I'm surprised nobody else posted they saw it.
I figured I would wait and see if someone else would say they saw it.

General Banter / Courses you never played before
« on: August 12, 2010, 10:39:13 AM »
Our list of local courses has grown so much that I have yet to play several courses.
I thought it would be interesting to see what other people have yet to play certain courses.
If responding please put courses in the order you are itching to play first and the least of your concerns to play last.

Old Pike and William Yates tie
Legacy Park
The 9 hole course by Park University
Shawnee Mission

I think there is a Junior High course out there somewhere. I'd put that one in there after Legacy if so.
The Junior High course in Belton is non existant now though. I drove through there a few months back and its gone.

General Banter / Parade section in the K.C. Star
« on: July 26, 2010, 12:50:13 PM »
First of all. I wanna point out Tammy brought this to my attention before I read all the guffaws.

15 ways to enjoy summer as reported in the Parade section.
Under trying a new sport it suggests disc golf.
It describes what the sport is and what you need. Although it says a Frisbee instead of golf disc.
It also said "Find a course near you, or learn how to create your own at pdga.com"
It also has a injury risk level of 2.
The try a new sport suggestion was listed in the ninth slot.

General Banter / Telescoping nets at Young Park
« on: June 16, 2010, 10:29:40 AM »
I asked about this in the lost and found.
I decided to make it a poll and see what everyone on here thinks.

I'm thinking about getting 4 or 5 telescoping nets for discs that end up in the ponds at Young Park.

Plus you can respond whether you think they will stay in place or grow legs and walk off.

General Banter / KC Star Sports section: Piece on Mason Finley
« on: June 08, 2010, 10:33:36 AM »
There's a piece in the paper about Mason Finley. A kid who has the national high school discus record. 236' 6"
He happens to be Jared Finley's son.
Jared Finley was considered a top discus thrower in his time competing against the nations top throwers.
Dan Weinert was a classmate and track teamate of Jared Finley.
I used to compete against Jared and Dan in junior high and high school.
That brings back alot of memories of competing against the top throwers in the nation.

General Banter / Disc Golf Course suggestions
« on: May 20, 2010, 11:40:26 AM »
I'm going to the Smoky Mountains in late June.
I'll be staying close to Maggie Valley, North Corolina. Its close to Ashville.
It appears there are several college, high school and grade school courses out there.

My preference is to play with awesome scenery ,which will be a given, and play a course similar to Down Under.
So I'm squelching courses with ALOT of long holes.

I have checked the PDGA website looking for my closest course and here's the results to choose from.
The first number being how many holes at the course and the next # is how many miles from where I'm staying.
The last # is the rating each course is rated through PDGA

I am guessing its a spare car key. Just one single key and definately a spare. Nothing else.
Turned into Rick at the RAC and most likely at Disc Golf World.
