People will be out there trying to sell there tickets too. Most if not all end up getting given away. My sis has seat rights and great tickets and she still has problems selling for this event. Everyone wants the Cup tickets though.
I just happen to be traveling South of St. Louis on the weekend of the 18th to see The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars.

Good luck selling those tickets Jack.

I wonder if I can make it back home by 5pm. after this is over?

Dude, I've never won over-all but won some pretty good cash for skins. So you never know unless you try. All it takes is doing better on one hole than everyone else to make your day. You can still shoot like crap and walk away with a good hunk of change. I think you might find if you keep playing Homie, your game will improve greatly during tournaments. If there just happens to be a slight distraction during a tournament it will seem much easier to deal with.

With as many that was there the heckling was actually pretty mellow. ALOT of newbies were there for this one. We played doubles if anyone was curious.
THE funniest parts. Arturo cannot say dog so was was calling dog by his letters. DOG!! Then he also had a putt from 20 feet and tried finessing it in but a wind came up and blew it about 40 feet the other way. He also was stroked for taking his second shot before everyone was done teeing on another hole.
This was the funnest event I've been to in awhile.
While I'm at it I'm going to insult a couple of guys I called out that didn't show. Jack Lowe and Dick Parker. Dick was crying about hurting but I'm still gonna give him crap just cause I can.

Tournaments / Re: 2nd Annual Capital City Classic

It wasn't you Brad....Anyway....I just got back in town from drill today and I can't do your tourney now.  My Air National Guard weekend duty dates changed and I have to cancel now.  Im sorry.  I have to go back to the base that weekend.  Things are really picking up...if ya'll catch my drift... :(

Had a great time Sat though at Cap City...did not bad in the 1st Round...if not ob twice, I would have been 2nd...and sadly I missed out 3rd due to one really really bad round...The wind gods on #1 for me when I was putting were not kindly to this fella and he struggled the next 13 holes to pick up the pieces...I almost quit...What an experience...hmmmm, back to REC maybe?

Better start learning the Afghanistan language.

I  would like to find a partner for 100year division. I am 47 years 9 months 20 days

Should I break it down to minutes??

But even if I cannot get the 100 year division I still need a partner to carry me.

When throwing a golf disc compared to a Frisbee. Try to throw as flat as possible. Try keeping the throwing hand at shoulder height on the backstroke if throwing conventional. That will help alleviate getting the nose up and turning sharp. Keep the disc flat with your wrist on the realease.

Check your message box for personal message please.

Are we sure? Glover hasn't bumped the thread in almost 24 hours... ;D
As soon as I got up I had to run. Didn't have time to do nothing else.
Mosquito, I woulda heckled you alot more if I woulda read this. But Buck and I didn't need to heckle. You guys sucked without any help except maybe those winds.  :D

Thanks all 11 others who showed to play this awesome course.

This is the next course to go inground ,from what I hear, after Cliff Drive is completed.

Homie was called to be at Cliff Drive the Sunday after next.

General Banter / Re: New Discs?
« on: April 05, 2009, 06:03:04 PM »
I broke a cardinal rule of tournament play yesterday.  I put a new disc in my bag.  However, I was glad I did. The disc?  The DGA '09 worlds fundraiser, Sparkle Aftershock.  I tried it out on a few throws prior to the 1st round.  I liked how stable it flew even in the strong winds in Topeka yesterday.  I used the disc as my approach disc all day.  It stayed on the line I input it on and wasn't affected by the wind at all.  Too bad my ability to judge distances was its usually terrible. (note to self: walk off distance of drive from tee to get an estimate remaining to the pin)

I thought Mark Martin was bad about that.

The putt ain't gonna get any easier if you measure it. Just putt the damn thing.

Can you tell I just came from Homie?

Chappy, I like the idea of at least creating a file share of directions and maps of surrounding area of each course and adding eating establishments.

Maybe be creative and add nightlife activities around the Metro.

I think this course was only set up one time. If it was the time I played it, it was longer than 8 years ago I think.

OK Last call people to play a course that as far as I know was last set up 15 or so years ago.
Don't look at the weather report!! This is a rare event.

Hidden Valley Will be set up on Sunday, April 5th.
I would say your best bet is get there and start in front of the Homie group if you are not wanting to play $1 a hole skins.
The whole course will be set up.
The skinners will be taking a break after 10 holes and grilling.

Sun. April 5th at 9a.m. At the imfamous Hidden Valley Park will be the next Homie round.
That's the word from Buckle. Anybody not wanting to play skins may as well get out there to play this park also.
Jamie Berry ,we are inviting you out too!!
While I'm at it, Jack and Dick are also welcome to join us.

Hidden Valley Park is just to the West of 435 at Parvin Road Worlds of Fun exit go West. 1/2 mile south on bennington west on russell  top of the hill.
Please call Buckle if you can bring a good portable basket.
