Please use skinner names. Bobby is Eagle. Ted is Cobra. I am Snake. Buckle is Buck and cannot remember Arturo's or the other Steve's name

Thought I would bring this back to the top to see if anyone will add to the stories.

I hate to say it but I think leaving a whole bag of discs is worse than locking keys in a car.

    Come visit Homer!

I earned Homie this week after a hard fought round Down Under. It was decided that the humiliating shame of possessing the doll would be greater if it were displayed at my place of employment. If you wish to visit Homer (or Barbie) please feel free to stop by Disc Golf World and say hello.

The next official Homie will be in two weeks (02/22). We will be playing Down Under... Backwards.

I thought I would repost this in its proper place for you.

Hmmm, I play, whatever the format.

Who is going to get to 1000 posts first Nivek9 or Slant?

Jack was the first to hit 1000 posts. Look up in General Banter my Nerd list

Kevin, I expect Jack to be one of those in line to slap you too.

I am sure the line will probably have more than those in it too.

BTW, I used to throw the discus in junior high and high school and was one of the top throwers in the city when I was a senior. Pure technique. So when intro'd to throwing this kind of disc I thought using my discus spin would be awesome but its a reverse spin from my natural technique so I never mastered that. But I have a strong desire to use that technique.

Lefty2 and I competed against each other in the discus in junior high and high school.

I meant to mention Rick Orndorff as the other person with Kevin who showed me the sport but I just now remembered his last name.

Believe it or not but I got dave to come out a long time ago but he did more watching than throwing. I made a really long putt on hole 3 up top at Rosie as he was there. I thought him seeing my excitement might spark a desire for him to play. But like you said Kevin, he spends his free time sitting in on jam sessions with blues musicians when he's not at Truman Lake on the weekends.

I took my nephew, Danny Glover, out to Rosie a long time ago too and he had one excellent drive on hole 18 that was very surprising for his first time playing.

Over this last Christmas weekend I found out my other nephew's buddy started playing in Manhattan so I gave him  a JLS and a Roc to take to him. He called me the other day saying he was extremely happy with my discs.

Danny is Vince's son and Kevin Buck is Linda's son.

General Banter / Who intro'd you to the sport and how long been playing?

Had some time on my hands and thought I would start this thread. Klunel asked me during Down Under league this question and I thought this would be entertaining. I'll start first.

Everyone can thank Kevin Montgomery for introducing me to the sport. Dick will be the first to slap him, I mean shake his hand!!
I am pretty positive I started in 1990.

Otto's wife ,Deb, had some of THE funniest comments during the round. And then Otto's story after the round was so great I think I pissed myself from laughing so hard.

Dick had the roster numbered to 40 in expectation of a larger turnout. I was a little disapointed at the turnout but we still had a great day of golf.

I predict a high turnout. Next weekend is supposed to get cold again.
