Winter Leagues / Winter League on Saturday????
« on: September 16, 2007, 07:46:55 PM »
I was curious when the Down Under doubles starts. My schedule keeps me from playing league during the week.

I am employed for Kelloggs Snacks division. Recently the company was given expense money for a company picnic. I proposed sponsoring a putting and CTP competion at the picnic and won the bid to put it on. Jack Lowe and Mark Morales has agreed to help me with this endeavor to promote disc golf and The Kansas City Flying Disc Club. I hope to be handing out info about the sport and the club to the employees and relatives. I think that this is one of several great opportunities to promote our sport and club. The picnic is being held on Oct 13 at the EH Young park by Argosy Casino and is running from 11am till 5pm. Employees of the company and their guests are invited to attend. The company is also inviting the KCK mayor and KCMO mayor plus the surrounding police departments and fire departments so this is a huge way to spread the word about our efforts to bring the family back to the parks.

Sounds to me like players who show up without a partner are discouraged to show up by saying if you do not pay in advance you do not play. Even if it is only 10 spots to fill it should not be that much a hassle.

I am still looking for a partner people. I aint that freakin bad

Not many posts on here?? I finally rid myself if the dreaded Homer doll and in the process pulled in 8 skins. Bobby shot -8 with no skins   :D. Arturo was vying to take home Homer but Steve Dresser never pulled out of last after his 6. We had 6 bold players risking life and limb in the mud. Buckle hit 4 long puts in a row but he went home empty handed too and finished -5. Mike Lockwood's wallet was never refilled with cash either as he shot -3. I cashed in with timely drives and putts to pull in my eight skins winning 4 of them with a straight sliding shot on 18 leaving me 4' from the pin for the bird.I finished with 2 up. Artoro was not his normal self as he only shot 3up but cashed in with 8 timely skins. Dresser took home 4skins and the dolls. HASTA LA VISTA SENOR HOMER.
I want to thank all the guys that showed up to donate their money. Its always fun no matter where you finish cause you get to play with THE TOP PLAYER IN KANSAS CITY~~~~ARTURO

Steve Dresser has called the next Homie sighting to be next Sunday at 9am at Waterworks.

Check out the new Homie post for this Sunday. Everyones invited. Do not be discouraged from coming because of a few open players. It is at downunder so EVERYONE has a chance at hitting an ace and or winning money. It might be doubles if you guys show enough interest by having a large group. I am encouraging my girlfriend to distract people with nudity. Studies have shown that sex sells.

Back by poular demand!!!
The one and only Homie round at Rosedale Downunder.
Round starts at 9am on Sunday.
Have enough dollar bills for 20 holes.
$5 for best score.
Distractions after the drives are highly encouraged (especially nudity of women)
Homie will be there in its original state with his girl Barbie.
EVERYONE is welcome.
I will decide whether it will be doubles or not right before we start.
Pass the word

Is anyone looking for a partner?? If so I am available. My normal division is Advanced. The way the pre-registration is set up, both players are to pay. I would hate to show up without a partner to see if anyone is available to find the field is already full.

Anybody care to start back into playing Homey???

Yea, I have the ONE AND ONLY HOMEY!!!
The only reasonable way I see me playing along with a caliber  of Arturo is to have enough for doubles. So C'MON PEOPLE.

I may otherwise relinquesh Homey to Arturo for the open players to fight for.

If this needs to be reposted, let me know.

I was hoping there would be some info as to when the Wide Open actually is. I was at a club meeting when it was brought up but we were served beer too!!! If the calender of events actually had events on it with minimal details, this post would not have been created. If my weak memory serves me better than I thought, it is at the end of June or somewhere close.

BTW, thanks Kevin montgomery for the kudos on the Ice Bowl interview. The interview was on the 5 o'clock and 9 o'clock news that Sunday night. No that's not all the fame I got. It was also on THE NEXT DAY TOO on the 5am and 8am news too. You would not believe how many friends and relatives called to say they saw it. One of my bosses at work had kidded me about seeing the newscast and had asked what was the reward for turning me in since I was THE MOST WANTED SEXUAL PREDATOR IN K.C. He said he had no idea I liked 11 year old girls. I kiddingly responded "If you are going to tell it, tell it right, it was an 11 year old boy!!" The look on a woman supervisor that overheard the conversation was priceless. I finally "cornered" her to tell the REAL STORY!!
I told my Human Relations manager if they would have kicked in the donations I asked for, Kelloggs would have gotten a plug from me too.
As far as a flyer to show our employers for sponsorship or donations, that would be grrrrreat. Kelloggs has been known to sponsor some big events so maybe with a flyer, and possibly a better representative than me to help with the presentation, we can have Tony the Tiger on a banner saying the KCWO is GRRRRRREAT!! How bout it Jack or Dan or anyone who can sell ANYTHING!! I talked to them already but I am not as knowledgable on details as others may be such as the tax write off info. Give me a call to let me know if ANYONE is willing to help and I will set up the meeting with the proper person at my job.
