Sorry I missed you at the icebowl Eric, I got a bad cold and stayed in bed.

I still want that hat!  Let me know which dark alley you want to meet in to make the exchange.

Don't race, we will wait 2 extra minutes for you. I have to pick up beer on the way anywho. Unless a certain person named Joe wants to pick me up some Mirror Pond on the way out. Not so subtle hint hint. :)

Gomer's just got in Hopslam mr Bell's lover.

Ahhh first experience with the Information Superhighway was via Prodigy back in like 1994.  CompuServe had nothing on them!

I'd be more worried about Star Trek.

This was the first thing I thought of as well after seeing their logo.

Was just curious if anyone had heard anything else about this course?  DGCourseReview still shows nothing.

Rosedale / Re: Down Under League Starts Sat 10.27.12

Dear Yaj,
I know this has come up before, but the rolling start with 25 - 40 players keeps me away more often than not. I love this league, but rarely play it because of the time I have to commit. Down Under over three and a half hours  is painful at times.

I agree and the main reason I rarely play DU on Saturday.  I love the league, but getting done after 4pm each week keeps me away from it.

If I didn't know that Jake was such a Roc fan, I might.

Thanks for looking though.   :'(

Found and Lost / Lost - red Buzzz hole 18 PC

I completely forgot to pick up my reddish pink Ti Buzzz on hole 18's fairway at Prairie Center this weekend.

That disc really tied the bag together, so hugs and kisses if returned.

Yeah, really enjoyed the coverage this year.  The octocopters are totally awesome.

Also, giving big props to Scott for finishing 8th in performance!

I was able to stop by there this weekend and play the full 18.  Really enjoyed the course overall, and glad to see another course of similar setup to Down Under in the KC area.

Although it was short with most holes around ~250ft, almost every one made you really work for the birdie.  Lots of baskets that were visible from tee, but inaccessible if attempting to go straight at it - requiring you to weave your drive down the fairway in an attempt to get a look.  John did an excellent job of utilizing the land provided, and I saw next to zero signs of ivy.   ;)

I took a couple random pictures while out there if interested:

Three cheers for the addition of another fine course in town.  Excited to check this one out.

Thanks for all your hard work out there John.

Said goodbye to 113 and picked up 19 this week at Rosedale.

Tournaments / Re: BBBS 3rd Annual Tournament (Thornfield)

Unless they are doing things differently this year, it is indeed a 4 person scramble format with everyone on the same card.  Just sign your team up at the start and I believe they ask for a team captain.  I can't remember exactly how they assign cards, in the past I always requested to be on the same hole as another group that I knew and it wasn't a problem.

I've done a couple of these benefit tourneys out at Thornfield and they are a blast. It's a laid back, honor system type of tournament played on a fantastic course with great amenities.  If you haven't got a chance to play there I highly recommend it.

As an FYI - if you can't make this one the Ozanam one is on the 8th of September.

This is great news Peter!  Thanks for your hard work.

I had heard about that hole 1 placement as well, but like you had never experienced it so that will be a welcomed change and a tough three.  I look forward to seeing the rest of the pin locations.

That's unfortuate to hear about league turnout, but I think the same thing happened late in the summer last year.  I'm partially to blame, as I haven't been attending nearly as much as I did last year.  I had planned on coming out next Tuesday and will try to make it a point to show up more often.

Speaking of, isn't the ace fund over $500 still?  Come out and get some people!

Just wanted to give props to whoever (Peter?) was responsible for adding the new pin location to hole #4.

I walked up to the teepad and got pretty excited when I saw the normal pin was missing.  Hard to see from the pad, but the area behind the pin is now cleared out and it's set back deeper into the woods a bit which makes for a more interesting hole overall.

Are we to expect any more updates in the near future?   ;D
