I was wondering the same thing. Is the sidewalk OB? It seems like that thicket of trees on the corner might need some trimming, or it's going to get trampled.

Just played the new holes WITH the pads in place!
I talked to a city worker and he said they had just finished.
Definitely rough around the edges, but the work so far looks AWESOME!
Thanks to all the helping hands!

Just played the new holes today and ran into Brian G working on hole 14. They look great. I wondered if you were planning on moving old 10's teepad back closer to the corner. I think it would also allow for another pin placement on old 11 somewhere around where old 10's pad is now. Lots of options. Keep up the great work!

Sounds to me more like the Ryder Cup that Columbia and St. Louis compete in. Pretty much the same, but they use Ryder Cup qualifying tourney's to decide who competes. I can't remember the format, but I know it's very similar to the actual Ryder Cup. ie. Head to head matches and point system. I don't remember the buy-in or stakes. I think it's all free because Dave would always make a tourney disc for everyone, and we played for braggin' rights.

I bought a 145 Destroyo and a 153 Boss. So far I've only got to throw them a handful of times, and my feelings are mostly, meh. I was under the impression from reading Dave Dunipace's original posting on these, that they were supposed to have the same flight characteristics as their big brothers (even with max torque).  I found that they are much more fickle than their heavier counter parts. And while the advantages might be greater on a hot calm day or with a tailwind, as yet to be tested, they seem likely to end up in my 11 yr old's bag. However, not until I'm sufficiently dissatisfied.

I will note that the Destroyer I got was flatter than any of the others at DGW.

Loved it. What a great park!

Cool, thanks Jack. I'll definitely bring him if there will be enough player packs. The Jr tee idea sounds reasonable if they're outside all of their throwing range.

So I just tried to PM you Eric, but it looks like that part of the board isn't working still.
I was wondering what the distances are going to be like for this. I've got an 11 yr stepson who was wanting to play, but he doesn't throw very far, so didn't know if it would be worth it.
Also, it looks like Saturday morning walk-up's are okay, but I want someone to confirm there will be enough players packs.

Tournaments / Re: Blue Bird Series Regional at Legacy?

After bugging him for a while, Kyle Crews emailed me this letter (yesterday!) that he said he was going to mail out to all the qualifying participants...

Dear MPRA Bluebird Disc Golf Participant,
As a result of your excellent performance throughout the MPRA Region 4 Bluebird Disc Golf Series, this letter serves as your official invitation to the Regional Championship.  Eight participants from each division are invited to the Regional Championship which will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Legacy Park Disc Golf Course in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Registration for the Regional Championship will begin at 8:30 am, players meeting at 9:45 am, with first round play beginning at 10 a.m.  At the conclusion of the first round, there will be a 60 minute lunch break before beginning the second round.  Times will be posted at the registration pavilion on the day of the event.
The Regional Championship is also the qualifying tournament for the State Championship which will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Marshall, Missouri.  Scores from the regional tournament alone will determine the top three players moving forward to the State Tournament.  Point totals from the previous qualifying tournaments do not carry over to the Regional Championship.
Tournament buy in fees will remain the same as the previous tournaments.  However, all monies collected will be used to pay the top 50% of the field (cash or merchandise).  One dollar from each tournament buy in fee will also be returned to the hosting club.  In addition, a portion of the buy in fees from all previous tournaments was marked for the Regional Championship.  Any additional funds in this account will also be distributed evenly amongst all the divisions at the Regional Championship.
Please confirm your participation in this tournament by Friday, September 9, 2011 either by email, or phone, (816) 969-1582. If I do not hear from you by this date, the next player on the list will be invited.
Thank you for your support of the first ever statewide MPRA Bluebird Disc Golf Tournament Series.
Kyle Crews
MPRA Bluebird Region 1 Tournament Director
