Cool, thanks Jack. I'll definitely bring him if there will be enough player packs. The Jr tee idea sounds reasonable if they're outside all of their throwing range.

So I just tried to PM you Eric, but it looks like that part of the board isn't working still.
I was wondering what the distances are going to be like for this. I've got an 11 yr stepson who was wanting to play, but he doesn't throw very far, so didn't know if it would be worth it.
Also, it looks like Saturday morning walk-up's are okay, but I want someone to confirm there will be enough players packs.

Tournaments / Re: Blue Bird Series Regional at Legacy?
« on: September 16, 2011, 09:34:51 PM »
After bugging him for a while, Kyle Crews emailed me this letter (yesterday!) that he said he was going to mail out to all the qualifying participants...

Dear MPRA Bluebird Disc Golf Participant,
As a result of your excellent performance throughout the MPRA Region 4 Bluebird Disc Golf Series, this letter serves as your official invitation to the Regional Championship.  Eight participants from each division are invited to the Regional Championship which will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Legacy Park Disc Golf Course in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Registration for the Regional Championship will begin at 8:30 am, players meeting at 9:45 am, with first round play beginning at 10 a.m.  At the conclusion of the first round, there will be a 60 minute lunch break before beginning the second round.  Times will be posted at the registration pavilion on the day of the event.
The Regional Championship is also the qualifying tournament for the State Championship which will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Marshall, Missouri.  Scores from the regional tournament alone will determine the top three players moving forward to the State Tournament.  Point totals from the previous qualifying tournaments do not carry over to the Regional Championship.
Tournament buy in fees will remain the same as the previous tournaments.  However, all monies collected will be used to pay the top 50% of the field (cash or merchandise).  One dollar from each tournament buy in fee will also be returned to the hosting club.  In addition, a portion of the buy in fees from all previous tournaments was marked for the Regional Championship.  Any additional funds in this account will also be distributed evenly amongst all the divisions at the Regional Championship.
Please confirm your participation in this tournament by Friday, September 9, 2011 either by email, or phone, (816) 969-1582. If I do not hear from you by this date, the next player on the list will be invited.
Thank you for your support of the first ever statewide MPRA Bluebird Disc Golf Tournament Series.
Kyle Crews
MPRA Bluebird Region 1 Tournament Director

Corbett and I played 2 rounds last weekend with Kevin "Big Country" Smith. He only has a few months left with the Army and will be moving back to KC in January. He's doing good.

Hats off to the DD staff and volunteers running both events last weekend.

You should've shown up Maurice, I could've used a good disc polisher.

That's funny, it says I have points from Blue Springs, but I believe CD was the only MPO player that day!

Alexsky Bubis, WW#1, LONG  508' with a roc during the rain delay warm up at the Wide Open, and yes I paid on the spot, even though it didn't "count"...My cool factor went up 1/2 point with him I bet on was freaking sweet, couldn't believe that he did it with an ROC.....

That was my longest ace in a casual round, but it took a Destroyer, then I turned around and sprained my ankle celebrating... I was only able to limp through hole 7.
Then someone stole the Destroyer.  >:(

leopard down the middle to get into the open, then a thumber over the top to crash the green.  works like a charm.

It's really 10,11,12 that I detest. I think you have to sprinkle/smoke some tobacco up by the green on 10 as an offering to the natives buried beneath before you even try to find the line there. Apparently it requires a five year renewal, because I know I've spent enough time smoking on that fairway throwing/waiting before 2005.

None of these holes are even close to being as bad as #9 at Indian Hills in Columbia, but I digress.

That hole has just gotten silly the last couple of years, even though I've gotten a 3 on it at every Mid-Am.

I hate you

I think there may need to be some clarification here. Bluebird is open to anyone who would like to play.

As far as having the person running the event posting it... I don't think the guy from LSPR, who doesn't really play DG and has never ran a tourney, has any idea this forum exists, so it would probably be good if the someone (J Cram) would try to increase awareness.

18's a great hole... especially when I take a 7.

What happened to the Pro's in KC?
I wanna play. If anyone else wants to step up, I'm sure It'll be worth your time considering my 59 last night!
