I would like to add some good vibes now because I know this question was introduced out of kindness and concern for the community around us.
To start, thank you all for the comments. The above was truthful and that is the only kind of useful data. So being honest about it will get us to the next step.
The concern here is when you give to the charity they might overlook the person that lives next door to you, and that person might need something vital to survival, and you would never want them to suffer or even live a lesser existence. So not saying anything bad about giving to charity, we want to help as much and as many as we can find.
The first step is getting the stuff to give away and I have been motivated to collect coats. I will collect as many coat sizes as I can all year long and pass them out around Halloween before it gets cold. Coats For KC and whoever needs one. I run a few tournaments during the year and I want to have an option to accept voluntary coat donations day of the tournament like a drop off location.
I can't say that I think it's a good idea to ask for a donation with every tournament entry but I think the point here is to start talking and get the ball rolling.
Ps much love to the KC Disc Golf community. I have found to be the most caring and giving group I have ever been affiliated with.
