General Banter / Alexander and the Greats at the KC Wide Open
« on: June 04, 2011, 11:45:13 am »
Bob Hayett here.  The band I'm in right now, Alexander and the Greats, will be performing at the Wide Open right after the Sunday final round.  After that we've got two events (Battle of the Bands) we'd like for you to attend if interested.  The big one is July 3.  The other one is at the end of June.  I'll get details soon, exact times, addresses, and ticket prices.  Hope to see everyone at one of these events.  Come out and support local live ORIGINAL music.  We also have completed our first demo CD.  We'll have these available for you also real soon.  Our band is a power trio featuring smoking hot guitar stud Alexander Harrison.

Those who didn't make the show missed a spectacular 30 minutes of entertainment by the final contestant at the Battle of the Bands at Jerry's Bait in Lee's Summit last night.  Alexander and the Greats (check out the Facebook page for Alexander and the Greats) consist of Alexander Harrison on vocals/lead guitar, fisherman bob (me) on bass/vocals, and the Great Terry Stanley on drums.  The finals are at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City, Mo. July 3.  You'll want to get your tickets early for that one.

General Banter / fisherman bob's interesting new musical venture...
« on: February 05, 2011, 12:17:10 am »
Haven't been at any league events for a while now, hope that changes this year.  I've been working on several new musical projects.  As you may or may not know I've been playing blues for many years, can still get a blues band together in no time.  Recently I've been getting together with a young (17 year old)phenom guitarist and we've formed a power blues/rock trio with an extremely good drummer.  This has extreme potential IMO.  Best chemistry of almost any band I've ever been in.  Kind of scary really.  Anyway if you were wondering if I'm still alive, it's yes AND getting excited about 2011.  Hopefully get back into playing the PC league soon.

General Banter / Which plastic flies the farthest for YOU?
« on: November 05, 2010, 08:48:53 pm »
I've got a pretty weenie arm but I notice that in almost all the drivers I throw (Discraft) the Elite-Z flies the farthest.  After throwing different plastic I prefer the ESP for the midrange discs and DX for the putters.  I guess this would be equivalent to Champion, Star and DX for Innova.  Does anybody agree/disagree?  What's your opinion?

Prairie Center / Prairie Center Saturday league again this year?
« on: October 26, 2010, 10:07:03 pm »
I talked with Tom this evening.  Would anybody be interested in running a Prairie Center Saturday league again this year?  Starting at 9:00 so as not to interfere with Down Under?  I might be able to run it but would prefer somebody else to step up and run it.
