Title: Volunteers needed Blue Valley Park Cleanup November 19,+ 26
Post by: Mark Morales on November 09, 2005, 07:06:51 PM
Jim Kreeger, one of the dynamic course coordinators of KCFDC Blue Valley Disc Golf Park, has requested that I arrange the services of the A Caring Community Eliminating Neighborhood Trash, ACCENT (community service workers) for November 19 and 26. I recieved the confirmation from the East Patrol Division, Community Interaction Officer, Dave DeLamare, and also will cordinate with the KC Parks + Recreation. Our main goal is brush and trash removal around Holes 1, 10, and 14. We will meet at 9:00am at the main shelter house, where they sign in with the Police Department, and they will supervise the workers up to 12:30 pm.

We will need members from the KCFDC to move through out the park at different work stations to supervise, and lead by example, and work with the ACCENT workers. If any trucks are available from club members we can haul the brush to the street, easily, or possibly have KCPR trucks manuever in the park, and haul it away. There have been up to 25 to 15 workers before at other projects, and we will work with what we have that day.
Residents from the Blue Valley Neighborhood Association will have lunch available for all workers at 12:00pm.

Please volunteer if possible, and help with the new park activities, as we strenghten our working relationship with all the stakeholders in the community.
Call if needed at H- 816-231-2009 for more details.

There will be an other cleanup on 3-11-06 at 9:00am, meeting at the main shelter house at Blue Valley Park. We will recieve the confirmation from KCPR tomorrow hopefully, but we will move forward with ACCENT community service workers, and hopefully KCFDC members with this late request. KCPR will provide flat bed trucks, front end loader, and trash truck.
Tim O Neiill and crew have the projects prioritized, and hopefully we can have a pour team ready to set concrete
remove all down brush and tree limbs
cut back ornamental grassess around lake
gather trash around lake
distrinute soil arounf tee areas and other tasks.
Questions call 231-2009
