USM / USM Ace Fund League - 2018
« on: June 28, 2018, 01:20:20 PM »
I'm avoiding FB for now and realized a lot of folks that don't use it might benefit from getting some info about what we are doing up at USM in Leavenworth on Tuesdays.

We have an ace fund league that tees at 6pm weekly on Tuesdays. The only cost is $1 to get in the ace fund. And you don't even have to pay that. But be warned, if you hit one and aren't in, no payday for you.

The fund currently stands at $291. Hit an ace take half the pot. For uneven splits the $1 stays in the pot.

Last week we had 15 out on a relatively nice evening.

I have 11 of the scores from last week (someone didn't share their card with me) and will list them here:

Andrew Marquardt - 49
G$ - 51
Bom Tutler - 53 (thanks for coming out guys. It was a fun round)
Dane - 55
Brodie - 59
Beckett - 60
KMont - 62
Peter Tady - 64
Andrew Johns - 65
Rylee - 71
Clint - 74
Tyler Forbes - ?
Bryan - ?
Aron Lough - ?

Next week I won't be there but Andrew and Pete are planning to mark an alternate layout for us to play for the next few weeks of long days. The course will play the opposite direction and include a few classic holes from days gone by. 6pm tee!!

Summer Leagues / 2017 Summer League Schedule
« on: April 02, 2017, 10:44:26 AM »
Here is a shortcut to the 2017 KCFDC League Calendar:

Anyone on the east side that wants to get down and dirty working on a neglected disc golf course that desperately needs some TLC has a golden opportunity this Saturday at 9am. I'll be out there with tools and a truck to haul off downed trees remaining from the fall work day along with other tasks needing done. There a lot to do and I'll do it all myself if I have to. The list includes:

1. Hauling off those remaining trees.
2. Cutting and hauling off at least three more key trees to open up #5 and #18.
3. Removing a downed tree on the bonus hole and opening it up some more so we can use it to supplant #17 until it the original hole is available again.
4. Moving tee signs for #16 and #17 for the temporary redesign until dirt work on original #17 is done.
5. General repair of tee signs throughout the course.

This will be a good start to getting this course back in shape. Flags are on order but won't likely be in by Saturday but they will be getting replaced as soon as they come in.

Questions? Let me know, PM or email or just reply here.

« on: November 17, 2016, 03:17:46 PM »
This is floating around Face Book right now and I know a lot of you guys don't do Face Book. So why not join in the fun right here on our little forum. Just copy what I posted and change the answer to your personal data. Feel free to add your own items to the list if you want.....

Found and Lost / Green G-Star Daedalus at Heritage
« on: September 12, 2016, 11:57:22 AM »
I threw a green G-Star Daedalus on #6 (I think, might have been a different hole). It flipped right over some tall grass into the woods. We looked quite a while and gave up on it. If you find it it will have Kmont #12037 on it most likely but might just have K.M. on it.

Not  a huge deal but it would be nice to get back.

WYCO / Friday League
« on: September 09, 2016, 10:57:36 PM »
Played tonight. Ace last week. Travis Daetwiler hit #5. Tasty ace beers tonight. No payout yet. Beckett still working on it. Fun night tonight. Started just after 5:30. 10 players, finished just after dark. Smaller cards and no more than foursomes next week.

General Banter / Change is Coming - Today - 8/31/16!!!
« on: August 31, 2016, 12:11:28 PM »
Although, other than some down time initially you probably won't notice it.

The Forum, that you are currently looking at, will be placed in "Maintenance Mode" at some point today most likely at around 3:30pm. This is to facilitate the move of KCFDC.ORG from one host to another.

So, don't panic, it will be back up and running within a few hours, possibly even over night as we make the changes necessary to move to a new home.

Questions? Ask away......

General Banter / Pat "Stally"Stallbaumer
« on: June 21, 2016, 09:17:22 AM »
USM Ace Fund League will be happening this evening - 6/21/16.

We will be celebrating the life of Patrick 'Stally" Stallbaumer. Those who knew him know that he was relatively new to disc golf but he loved it and played with us at USM and elsewhere as often as possible. He even made the trip down to Emporia for a very windy GBO a few years back. He brought up the rear in his division but had a great time doing so.

Stally passed away Sunday after a brief fight with cancer. He passed on the same day the KCFDC lost one of its most beloved and best disc golfers, Todd Henry. I know most will be headed to Swope tonight to celebrate Todd's life and contribution to disc golf in KC but for those who can't make it in there and to those who knew Stally and would like to celebrate with us please feel free to join us. We will most certainly be sharing stories about both Stally and Todd as we get in a fun round of 18 at USM this evening.

It's a sad week for disc golf in KC....  But rather than be sad, let's lift up those who we lost in celebration of what they did for us in life.
