I'm with EE on this one.  You play for the side you live in. Don't like it? You have 2 options, 1) MOVE - 2) Don't play  If there are BS excuses created to circumvent this, well... count me out. Otherwise I would be proud to play for the side I live in.

I agree. Keep it simple. If you live in Kansas, you play for the West. If you live in Missouri, you play for the East. Nuf said.

Just an observation, does anyone realize, that the only people that care about this event are the 30 people playing it??

Ditto!!!

Is there a final roster for the East Side yet?

The final rosters aren't actually set 'til the 3rd round match ups are created.  This is done to give the captains as much flexibility as possible and to encourage as much participation as possible.  That said, the captains need to determine tentatively who they will be rostering soon. So we can get shirts ordered for those that will need them. East Side's initial, not necessarily 1st round starting, 16 should be determined already, as Jose chose to fill those spots from all qualifying events. Though we're still waiting on the BV league qualifier results. Joe/Dick are in the process of adding captains picks to the West Side's inital list.  I'll be in touch with both sides this weekend.  Hopefully, we'll be able to post tentative rosters, for each side, by Monday.

Do we have a current list of the ground rules?
Was the final decision was that a participant's primary residence must be on the side where you play?

Also, could Tracy please remind everyone about the charitable cause for which we are playing.

I understand why we don't have am and masters divisions.   Beyond a handful of pros on each side, it would be tough to fill a roster without ams and old guys.  But, why don't we have a women's division?  Is it because there are not enough west side women who want to play?

It was a captain's vote. For the record, West Side voted to keep the women's division. But was fine with it either way so we went with the lEast Side decision.

For the record?  Oh, good. There is a record somewhere. Could someone post the record so we know who decided what and when?   It doesn't make sense that we would not include the ladies who have been an integral part of the team since day one. Seems like west side shenanigans!

I voted for no age protected divisions and for all to play open.  I never voted for NO WOMEN.  In fact, when I voted for the format, I was under the impression that Dick had wanted the same.

East side women are better golfers, why in the world would I voted not to have them?

This is outrageous.  Zapping the women's division was never stated.

The East will proceed as we have planned and will field two women.  If the West wants to exclude them then it's on them.

The record was already clearly posted on page 5 of this thread, and there were no concerns posted about it at the time.  There wasn't anything underhanded going on here.  It will be challenging at this point to change the format, especially if there have already been 16 male qualifiers or captains choices that have been selected for each team.
