Private Lessons
« on: January 21, 2014, 09:52:04 PM »
Hello!  My brother and I are looking for a few private lessons.  Over the next couple of months we would like to have 2-4 joint lessons of an hour.  We are dedicated players looking to improve and we feel coaching is the fastest method.  We are rated in the 920s and looking to make the improvements in distance, accuracy, and putting consistency necessary to move from intermediate to advanced.

We are willing to pay good money to have the undivided attention of an experienced teacher.  Please PM me with your qualifications and an hourly rate.

Those of you who know someone who would be a great teacher, tell them about this post!

Thanks,
Josh

Your a funny guy Brutha Jordan, just cause I don't have the right ligaments to throw 450+ anymore,  doesn't mean I don't know how to teach it. Let me know when your ready for putting lessons... :-)

Throwing 30 ft accurately > throwing 450 ft accurately.

I've got a house now with a backyard to practice putting in. I'll be alright, plus practicing on my own is free ;)

I learned everything else free of charge, I just need to learn the virtue of patience on the putting aspect and not change it over and over again after only trying something for a week at a time...

I paid $100 for a lesson from Ron Convers last year at worlds before it started.  It really helped me out a lot on throwing.  The issue was he forgot to teach me the basics, you know little things, like, have your bag of discs, have shoes not sandals to play in, make sure you can get to the course in your car on time.

One would think that paying for lessons he would have gone over that.  Unfortunately he didn't and that is the reason that I played the first round of worlds with sandals, discs found on the hotel floor, and barely took a ride to be there in time to start it off.

Of course it does make for great memories of the worlds.  Almost as good as the one that I played in a dress shirt and tie in protest of the silly "collar required" rule enactment of 2004 in Des Moines......with my computer case as my disc golf bag, which looked sillier?

Jack, I seem to recall my first encounter with you was quite timely.  You pulled up in your Porsche to the Mighty Shunga-Nunga tournament on Sunday at Shawnee Lake and made it to the tee on hole #18 across the water just as the 2 minute warning was sounded.

Gosh, what year was that?

Had to be 1999, I sold the 928 in 2000.  Terri was convinced that I was a pro, and sent me to the wrong the course that day......I made it and my card let it slide.  That was crazy because the players meeting she said the only thing that you can count on is that things will be late.  So I arrived with what I figured to be about 10 minutes to go, only to hear the horn as I pulled up.  Yep, good times!

 your welcome!

Please don't teach him to putt, too much comic relief!

And just to head this off from Jordan, har har, no, I can't throw far.

But I am pretty solid at draining the 15 footers.
