god bless the 'squids' or anyone else with the bravado to recover discs, legally or not. these heroes of our game greatly increase a players opportunity to get back that which was lost or forgotten.

...and squids DESERVE a retrieval fee.  AND, IFF the owner does not wish to pay this, I think the squid should just simply throw their disc back into said body of water.

Agreed.  But what is the fee?

And there is this    http://www.cultofmac.com/233185/the-tile-finally-gets-device-tagging-and-tracking-right/

Lol... are they waterproof? I can see lots of applications for this thing but discs aren't one of them.

I lost two of my favorite discs at a tourney last fall and didn't even look all that hard for them. Jim speaks wisely....  It's a piece of plastic.   ::)  But i do feel like it may be a bigger issue when someone is dealing in lost discs on a wholesale level rather than attempting to return the ones that are clearly marked. Onesy, twosy... meh... but dozens from the same public pond while trespassing in said pond on a regular basis?   >:(

How about $2-4...?  (My '98 DX Roc would be worth $10 easy...to me)

Hell, there's a certain amount of sadistic pleasure in throwing someone's disc BACK...and, well, these squids are already into perversive acts.  :-X

I've happily paid retrieval fees before. Especially at Frontier Park in Hays. One year there was a teenage girl who always seemed to be nearby when someone put one in. She must have made $40-$50 that day one or two bucks at a time. Now that's the way you do it.

negotiating tip #1 - act na´ve and thrifty, never let the squid know whose disc you wish to buy.
bonus tip - say you'll give him one dollar for one throw, who's the sucka now squid!
courtesy tip - always thank the squid for his ongoing good deeds!

I believe squid is such a derogatory term and wish you would stop.

Please, call them Cephalopods or ROUDs (Rescuers of Underwater Discs).

Thank you.
