I'm not involved in this at all.  Probably should contact DD.  My guess is Centennial.  Riverfront would only accomodate 45 players as it is 9 teepads and 18 baskets and they share the same fairway.

I'm sure it will be a 2-rounder at Centennial.

FYI,  The day after this tourney, Sunday June 1, there will be another DD B-tier just south of Lawrence/Topeka at Pomona Lake.  Pomona Open ;D

Yeah I was kind of shocked they are doing one at Pomona.  I like that course (mostly).  It's best to play in the spring.

I'm wondering what they are going to do with the hole that shoots over the playground and then the three holes directly after that which have very narrow fairways with the tall grass.  I'm hoping they convince the Corps of Engineers to widen those 3 fairways a bit and do an alternate pin / teepad for the playground hole.  Otherwise, I really do like that course.

Agreed.  That playground hole is a bit dangerous, if other people are using the park, which I am sure there will be.

And some of those fairways are a bit tight.

Thanks for the info on the Pamona course. I haven't played/been to the park. We will for sure adjust the tee on the playground hole...the mowing may be out of our hands. Will see if we can work some magic.

Rob...any chance you could update the title of this thread to include Pamona?

sweet, so we've resorted to magic to get courses ready?

Thanks Rob!

Two weeks out, on what is going to be a fun weekend.

Need some feedback on Pamona. Plan on blasting off from Lawrence and heading to Pamona after the awards. I see there is a small 9 hole course that we should probably invade. What should we do? Ace Race type event, Glow doubles, or maybe a 2 disc challenge.

Haven't played the Wolf Creek course. I notice that there are many looooong holes with very narrow tall grass lined fairways. Do any of these need to be shortened for speed of play and increased fun? Someone in the know, fill me in.

Hey Smitty.

It's Pomona Lake @ US Army Corp of Engineers - Wolf Creek site, first of all.  ;)  Luv that course!  Hit the fairway's and it's a fun day.  If you don't, it'll be a looonnnggg day

Yes, I think you better short the long blind holes a lil since the grass will likely be high, and I'm talking shin to knee high. Spotters on cards will be necessary too.

Course is long, around 7,000 feet.

Have to be careful about #5.  It plays close to the playground and across the road near possible camp sites.

The nine hole is the fun course on KS State Park land.  An Ace race or two disc challenge (putter/midrange) would be fun.

Let me know if you need more info.
