If we have 4 or more Kansas City Travel league'rs at the Tourny we can play for Ace Fund ($454).

I plan on being there Friday early afternoon. Possible afternoon round, Friday Doubles, 2 Saturday, 1 Sunday and final 9.

4 or more KC players in for any and all rounds will put ace fund in play.

All tags in . . . on Friday round. On cards during Tourny.
skins?? yes please . . .

I assume you would be 'in' only if you pay a dollar per round?

So, it sounds like you are saying any time you and 3 KC players are at a tournament the FTL ace fund will be in play. No matter what day of the week it is or where it is at.

That is possible but probably only at distant tournaments that I am at to facilitate.  I'm not sure that is kosher but it is hopefully a way to get folks to travel.  In town tournaments will probably only be in play on Friday s. What are your thoughts?

Yes you will have to pay $1 per round to be in.

There are probably no issues with it, but it seems redundant. Most tournaments have an ace fund. I would guess no
TD's would have any problems with it as anything to get more people there is good for them.

Anyone up for some dice on the box before each hole?

I have been to tournaments where local clubs have a private ace fund.

I have small issue with it. I think that if the ftl ace fund is played for any time other than fridays the requirement should be:

A current year kcfdc bag tag(dd is good too but club tag required) and $1

Or

$3-5 for non tag, non ftl regulars

Ultimately Harold runs the show and has done a great job. I will always trust his judgement knowing personally that he will do what is  fairest and most fun.
I would like to see ace fund stay for friday league and the occasional saturday version or paradise 54 type tourny where ftl dudes help put it on.

you mean current KCFDC member right?

 not everyone buys/cares about tags...

This week Parsons, next week Bowling Green? IMHO it should be kept local, some travel less easily than others. My 2 pennies...

Thanks for the imput guys.

I think tags are important . . . since that is one of the incentives to play FTL . . . but not necessary.

I like the idea of a $3 ace fund buy in for non-kcfdc members. As the ace fund has gotten large, I don't think it fair for someone who has never played FTL or local to show up and hit our ace fund without some kind of risk or relationship to FTL.

The only ones who will have opportunity in FTL on the road (especially long trips) would only be FTLers. It is a traveling league and we have often played some distant courses . . . This will be the first one of this distance. I agree, it would not be fair to have non FTLers in on a chance when it is far away.

It looks like only 3 FTLers are going so far anyway. I did check out the DGCR on the two courses . . . and there are some potential ace runs . . . longest hole is only 430ish.

Thanks for the imput, I am still persuadable if someone is really against it . . . and for a good reason.

If you are going to put up a league ace fund on an off day at a non-league event, where do you draw the line in the future? Why not just put it up every time you play? Why not every tournament? What about tournaments where different divisions play different tees? What about tournaments where one division plays a short, ace run filled course while another division simultaneously plays a much longer course?
It's ultimately your decision what you choose to do with the league you ard generous enough to facilitate but keep in mind that many people commit to one day a week and feel they have "invested" in it. I personally don't care what goes on with the Ace fund but I am far from a regular.

The more this changes the more people will get bent.  Personally, to avoid that from happening, I would recommend it stay however it was in the past.  That avoids all issues and arguments people may have with that.  If someone hit that down there it could have caused a riot like The Who did.

It's your gig, but when dough gets involved, people get all sorts of crazy.

Hey - I'm back to having every other Friday off.

Suggestions for next week:

Just got done playing Atchinson Jackson Park today.  This is the time of year you want to play that park before grass is an issue.

Same for Riverfront Park in Lawrence, Perry Lake, and Pomona Lake.
