Hecklling is allowed and encouraged, except on the drive. It was a non-pro level tehn Arturo when he was still learning the sport got WAAAAAY BETTER, and no one ever kicked him out....We did (buckle) kick out Danger, but let him back in. Now it has pretty much turned into a doubles deal random draw. The homey chooses the park, and the format (backwards, forwards, safari, etc) for each of the holes. With the 20 hole format, there is always 2 extra holes. It is skins, one tie all tie, and can carry over beyond 20 holes. $5 is for the best overall score after 20 holes, not after the skins are decided.
It is a fun way to test your mettle, but makes it very hard when playing in tournaments against a fellow homey....you also have to have an animal nickname, as names are not allowed to be used, when you take the covetted homey home to display your poor play you must mark on the box your name, and then call the next week location. The first person to the location is the last person to go, so the last to show up is the first to go. It is to start at 9:00 am on Sunday morning, it has been around longer than most of the courses in Kansas City.......
Turn to page 3 of this thread, and Rick has some of the origins of Homey......
