Raymore course
« on: July 23, 2014, 09:33:49 PM »
Front 9 baskets are in at Raymore Recreation Park course (we will come up with a better name soon).  Hole one starts by the skate park.  Tee pads aren't poured yet, but there are markers at tee pad locations (some holes #2, 3, & 8 have short pad locations too).  I will be posting map shortly either on Facebook or possibly here if I can figure it out.  Back 9 will go in later in the year (possibly into next spring).   Ribbon cutting and dedication and full opening will be next summer.  But, you can play some disc golf now in Raymore if you live close to there.  Get a hold of me by PM, email, or phone if you want to check it out and want a tour.  Those of us that live here are super excited.  I know a few (Vince Como, Brad Ryberg, and Sean Mizell) played tonight and I will be setting the initial course record tomorrow evening ;)

 8)  This is frickin Outstanding News. Finally another course in Cass County.
I'm thinking "Cass County Open "Summer of 2015, during the Cass County Fair Week.
County fair money and tons of sponsors would be jumping on board for this event.
It could even be mention on Joe Laurie's Golf tournaments free of charge on TV.
Now I do have questions?
Can you drink alcoholic beverages in Raymore Parks?
Who will be the first dumb SOB, to throw a cigarette butt down?
Anyway Outstanding news. Thank you to those involved with this course.
;D

Holy Cow! Finally!!! I first wrote up a 27 page proposal 11 years ago which strangely included a similar layout. However, the park is much busier these days. I am surprised this actually went through.

In fact, I finally gave up trying to convince the park board 4-5 years ago. Then talk began again with an undeveloped park near 71hwy and Cass Parkway. I'm really surprised AND grateful with this news and the community getting behind it. Kudos to those who kept the dream alive. Already went out and played 3 rounds of 9 holes. There were at least three other groups on the course as well. Shot 28, 27, and 25.....but sounds like someone already set the course record  ;)

Gonna head out again tonight with some of our alumni runners for another round.
