Well this is just getting stupid fun!

The only one I use is a E Samurai during the winter.  It's green.

I also use the Bullseye practice basket although you wouldn't guess that.

I did also have a Karma that I liked but threw it into Peter Pan's pond in Emporia.  Too many other mids to actually buy a replacement.

Who throws what Gateway molds and plastics?

Utz - don't you putt with Wizards?

Anyone else - what plastics do you prefer?

Wizards have a great feel in the hand and hold a line well, but on missed putts they sure like to kick up and roll away.

I put with wizards for anything inside 40 ft. I've been using them for 4 years or so.

SSS Wizards!!! Preferably black or pink (eraser pink). That is all I throw from Gateway.

The softness of the Super stupid Soft is unreliable though. I have to touch any disc before I buy it.

I prefer the Chalky Wizards myself.  The Wizard is also all that I throw from them, but those suckers catch...when I hit metal that is :)

Mine is also a SSS but more chalky then soft. Some of the sss are too flexible for me. I like it to be a little stiff with just a bit of give and nice grip/feel.

SSS Voodoo are where it's at. I have three and no complaints.

Wizards (big bead)
Warlocks (beadless)
Voodoos (small bead)
Magics (beadless)

"The Gateway Warlock is the same disc as the Wizard but without the signature bead. As a result, the Warlock is dead-straight stable out of the box and behaves like a broken-in Wizard, and has a later low-speed fade when thrown hard. A great putter to complement your Wizard."

"The Voodoo is Gateways Newest, fastest and accurate Putters. It is a great lay-up disc, straight line putter. Feels very comfortable in your hand. Acts like a broken in Wizard. "

The Magic is a strange beast. It's 'Less Overstable' than a Wizard.

For my putts (inside circle) I use my trusty 'Big G' wizards. Almost with a velvet feel, mine has been used so much it has the 'gateway-dimples.' Big G is comparable to SS or SSS, but IMO with a better feel.

I jump putt from 33' to 90' - Depending on wind, and green situation i'll probably still use the Big G's, or if I need something a bit more stable ill switch to a newer Glow or O.G. Wiz. Lastly, I use Medium or Glow Wizards to drive quite a bit or for upshots that need touch outside of 100' - I feel comfortable power gripping a wizard, it's never let me down. The only grip I run into issues with is a fan grip. For fan grip shots I'll use a Coyote or Roc, both considerably faster than putters (duh)

As Eric said, You really have to use discretion when choosing a Wizard. Need to feel it and check the grip/bend test. I like to see how putters act in cold weather and in hot weather, as the feel tends to change. For my Winter putter I'll usually go SSS and 168-170g range. Less weight and softer plastic tend to do better when putting in the cold air, especially when you have a few layers on.

Wizards - I love em.

I haven't bought a wizard in over 10 years. I used to put with them but now mine are all too beat up.  What modern wizard/gateway disc is the closest to the originals or protos?
