Sounds like some trash bags will be needed or pins pulled before Saturday...

There are only two red baskets on the course right now and I'll pull them both on Friday. BTW, the course is getting mowed today and tomorrow.

Thunderstorms likely.  Does lightning postpone things?  It's not like we're playing baseball and holding aluminum bats or anything  :o

48 hours away. Midwestern weather changes in 15 minutes. that's 192 chances for the weather to change.

Good question though. I'm having flashbacks of the Kan-U-Wyco a few years ago. ugh

Yes, lightning does change things, which brings up a GREAT safety point about stoppage in play.
http://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/section-1-tournament-procedures/17-suspension-of-play

You DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, have to mark your disc with a mini, use something like a rock, a branch in the ground works, etc.....the most important thing is if you hear the 3 blasts, GET OFF THE COURSE AND GET TO A SAFE PLACE.

Typically you will have at LEAST 20 minutes before play is to resume, some give you 30 minutes.  It is YOUR responsibility to know when you are to start.

This isn't Scott's first rodeo, and knowing our weather I am sure that he will mention the scenarios at the players meeting.  You can't unilaterally decide the weather is bad, rain sucks, but if there is no immediate lightning concerns, play on in the rain.

Played BV yesterday while they were mowing. With the fresh cut it will be nice. Just wondering if anyone knows what the current course par is for COF with the new placements and set up? The new pins were fun to play so thanks to those working on this course.

I think I calculated it to be a par 61.

Mando TREE up the fairway so you can't go right.....

I would say that 18 short is a 3 as well, putting it at 60.....honestly if you go 4 on #18, you need to go 4 on #7

For cliff;
55 or 56, hole #1=4, and then uncertain if #16 will be called a 4 or not.

Fair enough.  Par is irrelevant anyway.

There is a mando on 9?  I didn't know that.  I get 3 pretty consistently on 7.  Downhill is the reason and it is clear.  18 up that hill and around or through the trees?  That is just a nightmare for me.  4 is as good as I can do Even playing it clean.

That said par isn't based on what and old noodle arm can do.

I guess I just like seeing par as possible for me.  I think I could maybe get a 4 on blue valley 9 just so long as my 3rd shot is a good upshot.  I guess that isn't terrible.

Not sure I could get a 3 on 16 at Cliff but I've only played that position once and went around not over.  I wouldn't mind 1 at cliff being called a par 3.  I have done that before.

How about a little merging of Masters and Grand Masters people? Numbers are dwindling...
