Oh, this is too cool.

http://www.pdga.com/2016-pdga-major-events-officially-announced

WARNING!  SHAMELESS, AND I MEAN SHAMELESS PLUG COMING UP.

Want to get those points needed to be invited to the 2016 Worlds?

Play more events.  Like Maverick Disc Golf events and the Meandering Monday PDGA league.

Get yer points, get yer invitation, play PDGA Worlds.

In all seriousness, this is very cool.  Pro Worlds within day-trip driving distance.  Am Worlds in a wonderful beer city.  YES!

Madison Disc Golf is a top destination in the world.  If you haven't played there in the past, you are missing it.  They have courses that are top notch easily comparable to other great disc golf cities (you know, KC, Des Moines, Charlotte.....).  I would encourage everyone to plan a trip up to play in an event up there.  Mad City comes to mind, but a trip in general is good.

Emporia is doing a bang up job of promoting and helping the sport as well.  The GBO has shown the impact a community of disc golfers can make.  These "smaller sized" cities truly do see the economic impact that our sport has to offer.  By doing so hopefully that trend will continue to showcase that we are in all honesty a traveling "trade show" for disc golf when we come to town.

Kudos to both event planners.  I doubt either of them let us down, though I am willing to bet the weather will be a little nicer to the Northland am event than the sweltering heat of mid KS in August!

Courses will not be as green and lush in Emporia either that time of year so it will play differently than it did last weekend!

Still great news, and kudos to the folks making it happen.

I'm sure DD will order it to rain all summer next year to keep everything lush and green for August! LOL

I mean they were spot on with their weather request for GBO!!!   ;D
