Just curious, as I'm thinking about getting signed up for this, AND I haven't played it in a while.  8)

What did you want to know about it?

http://www.pdga.com/tour/event/26332

I've been thinking about playing it. I understand they intend to use the new course, Harmony Bends (Strawn Park), this year. I drove by there just over a week ago though and they seem to have quite a bit of work yet to do. Only two pins were in so far I was told at the time. It looks to be a pretty nice course though. Might be a parking challenge however. I counted exactly 16 parking spaces and didn't see anywhere promising for additional parking, even temporary. I suspect they will have that covered somehow.

Here's more info from Disc Golf Scene: https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/32nd_Annual_Mid_America_Open_2016

Entry fees are pretty steep for a B tier if you ask me.

Check that....  I guess I won't be playing. They have changed it to a three day event with doubles on Thursday. I have work commitments that won't allow me to get away in time on Friday to get to the first round. They appear to be reaching for the big-time with it this year to introduce the new John Houck designed course. I'll have to play it some other time I guess. Bummer.....   :(

It's on my calendar and I will probably NOT attend, historically an absolute blast, you get the high heat and humidity, and a good mix of STL, KC and locals, 3days is a lot of golf. Great swimming at Albert Oakland. As far as Strawn looks like holes one and eighteen are mirror image par 5's and John Houck will be there to see what golfers can do on his latest design. 20% chance I will play

I don't know. Kim and I are thinking of this, but there's only eight people registered and the tourney is in a little over two weeks. That seems low.

many day of registrations on this one, the Friday thing killed me from going.  I have to be in St. Louis that Friday for a Dr. appt, but it is generally a good time for certain....had they done just a Friday afternoon round I may have made it.....

Yeah, the Friday thing has me balking a bit.  Especially with the waiting to see who all would be there, and possibly not knowing for sure until day of.

Hmmm..... that's a thought for sure. If you decide to do this let me know and I will likely join you in Int and for the Houck course round on Sunday. I was planning on playing this until I saw the Friday rounds. hadn't thought about the C pool. Hell, I could play Rec for that matter....   ::)

I know right.....I am sure we will discuss this at Poker.  Based on the prognosis of my knee timing aligns pretty well for me to be healed up for that also.....

Are there any Ams going to this event, that are not staying the night?  If so, is there any interest in carpooling?  I want to play, but I don't want to spend the money on hotel.  Would rather drive back & forth 1 day & ride with someone the next...

I'm thinking of it but $80 smackers is kinda steep and enrollment seems lacking too.

Youd save like $20 to drive 8 hours?  Makes more sense to carpool and get a room than to drive back forth a couple of times....at least to me my time is worth more than $5/hr savings...

its more that the wife might not let me play if I have to stay the night, out of town.  Makes it easier to ask for permission, if its a local tourney or if I will be home in the evening.   Definately wasnt about the money.  I saw hostels for $50/night
