Back by semi-popular demand, the Swope Spring Renewal is on. However, the date has been changed to May 6...so Cinco your Mayo, and then come out to Swope on Sunday for a fun day of golf. We'll be sending out an email with a link to a flyer shortly. Below is what is in the flyer. Hope you can make it!

This is not a PDGA sanctioned event!

Entry Fees:

Open: $27. Optional for open only—Big Boy Sidebet Pot Enhancer: $15
 
Pro Masters, Pro Grand Masters, Pro Women: $22

Advanced Men, Advanced Women, Advanced Masters: $22

Intermediate Men, Intermediate Women: $17   

Recreational Men, Recreational Women, Junior Divisions: $12

Minimum of three players required to open a division.

Current KCFDC members may deduct $2.00 from entry fee.

Ace Fund: $2.00 (optional). If no ace: CTP for 1/2 and the KCFDC gets the other 1/2..

Prizes: cash for pros. Disc golf stuff or DGW prize vouchers for ams.

Preregister by 3 p.m. May 5 and get a free mini. Stop by Disc Golf World or call 816.471.3472 to pay with credit card (5% service fee will be added).

On site registration from 8:00 am - 9:30 am. Players’ meeting: ~10:00 2nd Rd: TBA

It's true. The Swope Spring Renewal has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 20. Here's a link to an entry form (that still has the orginal date):

The long-range weather forecast looks great, so if you not traveling to play in the various PDGA events in the region, please come out to beautiful Swope Park for some low-key, friendly competition.

The fee is a credit card surcharge (5% I believe)
The course is supposed to be mowed today (Friday)
If not, consider this. The tall grass is seeding grass, as you go by, grab the seeding strands and distribute to bare spots.
Just pay more attention to where your disc my go. I played last night with a group, we had no problem.
Do spray your legs for chiggers.
Remember: Winners play the elements.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks to everyone who came out to play beautiful Swope Park on a perfect Sunday yesteray. All told, there were 49 players who sampled an assortment of holes through the use of both sets of baskets and teepads. The first round was on a much longer (probably greater than 1,000 feet) course. The courses featured mandatories on holes #1 and #10, and there was no OB except for going into the street (and not getting across the street on #13 in the first round). We mixed divisions for the first round before playing within divisions on the second round. Thanks to Jim Neal for making sure the course got mowed, and moving some baskets for us to get ready. Thanks to Becky Stebbins, Kevin Montgomery, and Bill Neenan for the assistance in scoring. Thanks to Dan Cashen for constructing the deck and pro shop, which is the best place to run a tournament from...especially if you're playing the event you're running. If you have never enjoyed the "19th hole" on that deck, you really should. All and alli, it was a fine day of golf and camaraderie. The scores are below.

The next Disc Golf World event might be at the disc golf course at Wakarusa. We'll be vending the tournament discs there this year, and hope to get something going. Stay tuned.
