Why no master's division?

  • This encourages mixed age teams
  • This event is about fun more than competition.
  • The course will be set short (I think you can reach the pins Tom).
  • The winner will be the best putters, masters have had more time to practice putting ;)
  • A majority of the masters aged players in KC are Open players.
  • I don't think someone in their 40's needs be "protected".
  • Did I mention this is a fun event? If it is all about the win, this probably isn't the right event.

I am saying this event adheres to the "Most Fun Wins" concept. Full-time, hard-nosed, touring players like yourself may find the level of competition not quite at A-tier standards (what with the music and all).

That said, "The Last Angry Putter" is encouraged to find a partner and get in on the fun. Maybe you could pick up one of the disenfranchised Masters aged players.

Hard nosed touring players.........like myself....that is FUNNY.  Watch as I try to prevent myself from finishing last place this weekend, I am hoping for a few DNF's to ensure that!
:)

Is that a good plan or what?

I will have to watch my littlest one on the 16th so.....that will be my reasoning for not playing.  Hopefully the rain will stay away this year for you.

Is anyone looking for a partner?? If so I am available. My normal division is Advanced. The way the pre-registration is set up, both players are to pay. I would hate to show up without a partner to see if anyone is available to find the field is already full.

per the solsticedoubles.com FAQ page:

Pre-registration will be limited to 50 teams. A few extra spots are reserved for visiting rock-stars and their mothers.

Solstice Doubles is filling up fast!

Only 19 spots left.

The weather forecast says upper 80's and sun.

$60 a team gets you 2 shirts with the Solstice Logo and 2 custom stamped Aviars, cash payout for all divisions, raffle, contests... PLUS great food and plenty o' beverage.

***********************************************
There will be no day-of registration.
***********************************************

We are working hard to make this a fun event for everyone (including us) and don't want to deal with the hassle of signing people up during the event.  If we don't quite fill before Saturday, so much the merrier, The course will be less crowded.

Those that register in advance will play, eat, drink, and be merry... Those that don't, will have to wait till next year.

If you know somebody that wants to play and hasn't registered, tell them to get in gear.

Registration is easy:

  - Online at www.solsticedoubles.com
  - In person at Disc Golf World 509 E 18th m-f 9-4:430 (816)471-3472
  - Wednesday at Rosedale Park 5-6pm or after league.

Sounds to me like players who show up without a partner are discouraged to show up by saying if you do not pay in advance you do not play. Even if it is only 10 spots to fill it should not be that much a hassle.

I am still looking for a partner people. I aint that freakin bad
