When:  Saturday, June 22, 2019
Where:  Thornfield Disc Golf Course
What's it all about?  Flippin' Sweet Memorial Disc Golf Tournament is in memory of two disc golf players, Tom Karlin and Grant Gottschalk, who took their lives within a year of each other while they were teens.  They loved the sport, and more importantly, they enjoyed the players they met on the courses during play.  Flippin' Sweet has been fortunate to get cool players that have the qualities that made Tom and Grant love the sport, and we hope to continue that trend in 2019.

As usual, the tournament is all day on a Saturday, with a morning round of singles play, and an afternoon round of doubles play.  We'll serve lunch (smoked pulled pork sandwiches + sides), have beer for players 21 and older, and lots of other beverages.  The tournament has enjoyed great weather (fingers crossed for June 22), and players that have been a pleasure to have on the course.  We'll have players bag with a tournament disc, as well as stuff contributed by local and national businesses.  If you've played, or know someone that's played, they will probably tell you it's a great tournament.

All proceeds go to the Johnson County Suicide Prevention Coalition.  That's somewhat misleading, agencies and non-profits from across the metro area participate in devising suicide prevention strategies, and to enhance awareness of depression, which often precedes suicide.  Your support has provided the bulk of their funding.

We need players to fill our 90 player slots.  To learn more, or sign up, go to
