23rd Mid America Open, Columbia, MO 7/14 and 7/15

Anyone planning on venturing to Columbia for this tourney?

I think the wife and I will be playing this year.

do they play on just the Oakland Park courses? it doesn't say much regarding this on the website

They usually use a combination of Indian Hills and the two courses at Oakland.

I know some divisions are going to play Garverland as well.  Garverland is a private course on Fred Garver's personal land....I've not played it, but it's supposed to be pretty cool. I'll try to find out which divisions are playing what courses.

There will be a USDGC spot handed out to the winner of a one round event held prior to the Open. 

I will let Chappy fill in the details as he will be running the event, but the fees to play a round will contribute to the winners registration and if you have a bad round , you can buy in again and try for a better score.

yes it is.  I think that I heard that it is $20 to play first roud, and $10 each additional round, your lowest score counts....

Correctamundo! 

$20 for the first chance, $10 for each additional chance (you can quit in the middle of your round if you're playing crappy and start over, just have to pay the $10 to start over).  The event will run from 8AM-11:30AM (no round starts after 11:30AM, due to doubles starting at 1PM there, and resume after doubles (around 3PM) and go until 6PM (no rounds will start after 6PM....you may of course finish after then).  I'll post something later on that looks more official.


The winner of the spot will get his entry fee to the USDGC paid, and maybe some expenses (if we have any money left over)

All residents of Missouri are eligible. Also, all members of Missouri-based clubs that live in the metro areas of Missouri towns are also eligible.  Yes, this means KCFDC members that live in Overland Park, Lenexa, KCK, Lansing, whereever are also eligible for the Missouri spot, as well as River City Flyers (St. Louis) members that live in metro east St. Louis, Joplin Disc Golf Club members that live in Miami, OK are eligible, etc....
