Pleasant Hill course?

I saw it touched upon in the lee's summit thread, anybody know anything about the course scheduled to be in the ground september 1st at some lake near pleasant hill, mo?

it's around pleasant hill lake, approximately 161st street and lake road

i drove out to look around today

there are blue flags that i'm guessing representing the tee boxes

there are also tall poles that may represent pin placements

i also spoke with someone from their parks department and they said that they are waiting on the baskets and they will be installed immediately when they get them

doesn't look like strictly a juniors course, but it isn't blue valley either...

the holes looked like 300 apiece maybe

the guy who came to the wide open and told us about it is a former member of one of the several clubs that preceded the kcfdc. he was very good at working independently, which never seemed to work out too good for the club.
it wouldn't be surprising if he "designed" the course his ownself. of course, he may not have had much land to work with and most likely did the best he could with limited resources and without having to bother anyone else for input.

just spoke with the Pleasant Hill Parks department and they have gotten their baskets in and hope to have them in the ground by the end of next week

drove out to the course today to check it out...

they had sleeves/poles in the ground and had poured the teepads...they weren't totally dry yet

I went out and checked progress yesterday.  Looks like the tee pads are in (fairly small 8' by 4' roughly), but no pins have been installed.  With the heavy rain that we got yesterday I'm not sure if they can even work on it this week .  The course looks pretty short, and short term it doesn't appear to have many options for more difficult pins.  However, the lake is pretty scenic and there is camping available.  Also, for those with young children the Savannah Land petting Zoo is across the street.

the head of pleasant hill parks and rec e-mailed me today; they hope to have the ribbon cutting on oct. 27th

it's on lake road and 164th street, on the SE corner of the Pleasant Hill City Lake..

you can either take 50 highway east to 7 highway south into pleasant hill and follow the signs to the city lake, or you can just take smart road south off of 50 east and follow it all the way to the lake...it's about 5-6 miles down smart and you can see the lake when you're coming up on it, when you get onto the gravel part of Smart Road you're getting close.
