Shawnee Mission Course
« on: October 29, 2007, 10:00:21 AM »
Any update on the Shawnee Mission Park course?  There were rumors it might be in the ground at the end of October.
Over the line, Smokey! I'm sorry. That's a foul.

Unless I was in the wrong place (and I don't think so) I saw some flags, but no baskets yesterday.  Maybe they started in the back?

i know, but I'm going to Camdenton, MO to work on a green. So I'm out on this one. Sucks but my boss owns my rear end. Hopefully will be back in time for the Club Championships.

It is down by the softball field on the south end, which may be different from the last configuration.  I bet we will know something very soon about this course.....very soon.....

I did a recon of the park last night. saw approximately 18 whitetails, but 0 baskets and 0 tee boxes. Maybe they will be installed by the end of October.....2009?

Does the course run east bound for hole 1 from the softball field or south from the softball field.  I also went to scope out the progress yesterday and saw nothing either.

Folks, I'm sure Dirk and/or Jack will post something when the course is in the ground.  I don't have any personal knowledge of what's going on, but it sounds like they are close to installing it (I know the parks dept. has the baskets), but they parks dept. is much more particular about this piece of land than any of the otehr parks depts. we work with.

In other words, be patient, grasshoppers. :)

You did not look closely, there is a lot of work being done.  House and Dirk built baskets last night.....they will be in soon, and then it will be announced....you must be patient, but yes it is almost done......almost, but then is any course almost done?

Took a "closer look" at the park this afternoon. There's concrete in a lot of places that there was none before. Soon....very soon...maybe.... ;)
