The Bag Tag Challenge needs some spice
« on: October 30, 2007, 10:53:58 AM »
Something needs to be added to make the bag tags more interesting. Can we look at how some other groups do their bag tags, because I have seen other groups doing it a lot different than we do.

I would at least like a few events were everyone puts there tags in box and the tags are redistributed based on overall score.

I think it would be a good thing to do this weekend.

I agree it would be good, but I think there should be a box for each division.

Best scores get best tags all 4 rounds keeps it real.

Doesn't matter to me as I am attending a local NFL event Sunday, unless I can scalp my tics for some ridiculous amount.....

They did it at Cilff Drive all the times I played that I can remember.  More than once a month.

there are no divisions for the club champinoships.........They are flighted......after the second round, the first 2 rounds will be cmoplete randomness, watcht eh madness unfold on people.

Sunday will be the groupings by score, and then those that show up to play a few rouds on thier own.

We will be playing Down Under first in the Morning, and then up top in the afternoon.

we do need to get the course closed sign.....

I would agree some spicing up is necessary for the upcoming year as long as we don't put a money value or enforced betting.

Guth what are some other things you are seeing other clubs do?

Personally, I'd like to see a match play championship with the rankings based on your tag number.  But at 150 tags, we're looking at 7 rounds with a few byes.

I like the mach play suggestion. The number of rounds would be less than seven as not everyone would show up!  Could also do something like this:
1-50 Play Course #1
51-100 Play Course #2
101-150 Play Course #3

Make it 36 hole match play.

Winners of each group are put in one pool and play match play, high paired with low. Might be more fair  as there would be very few 140's beating a player with a top 10 tag.  The real fun, in my opinion, would be a player with 75 beating number 25 etc.

It's just an idea, haven't really thought it through......

That sounds really fun! Creative and challenging. Name the place and time, and I bet several tag holders will show up.
