Just a reminder....Pleasant Hill league will be noon Sunday 4/27 (random draw doubles) at Lake Shore.  Cost is $5 + $1 to KCFDC, hope to see you there....if you have questions about league give me a call at 816-210-1063.

For area discgolfers, Nick's Outfitters now have an assortment of golf discs.

Any chance, with summer coming (more daylight), of getting an evening league going? Say Monday or Tuesday?

Thanks,

Tom

Given enough interest I would help run a weekly singles league (pro and am divisions).....I would suggest Mondays or Wednesdays.  Swope league is on Tuesday and it draws players from this area.  Mondays might be the best day (least impact on other leagues). I think you could start as late as 6:30 and still get finished before dark.  This might help commuters.

Dan, Thanks for the singles offer.

OK, So who is up for league on Mondays or Wednesdays at 6:30.  You can count me in on either day (and maybe my wife as well, still twisting her arm  :) )

We are both noobies, but the bug has bitten me pretty hard.  That being said, do you think we would stand a chance with the doubles crowd on Sundays? It is kinda hard making it there much before noon. How early do I need to be there for the draw?

Thanks,

Tom

It really depends on who shows, with the Tournament season in full swing its hard to predict plus today is Corporate Challenge Men at Swope.  I believe my daughter is going to play this week (she has played for about 1 yr).  If enough players are there for a amateur division we could have seperate divisions.  If you're on the way and running late call me, I'll have my phone with me (816-210-1063).

Also, don't forget the Afternoon "D" Lite #2 on 5/18, it will have the full assortment of divisions (pro/am) for men and women.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 5/4 (Sunny 65-70 degrees, South - Southwest wind at 7-11)

Eleven players out for League at Lake Shore on a beautiful spring day.  Had three new players out for league (Tom, Beth, Lori) so in the interest of fair play we played pro/am doubles.  Since Will and Caleb hadn't been playing leagues, we grouped them with the new players to form the Ams.  Cali was restricted to the Pro draw.  Probably will use the pro/am format in future leagues anytime there's a wide disparity of playing experience.

Leo/Will won comfortably by finishing strong, early in the round Dan/Tom hung with them but faded down the stretch.  On the other card, Bobby was trailing most of the round but he also finished strong to take second.  Shot of the day was Deano hitting from about 120' for birdie on hole #2 from Beth's drive (after losing his second disc of the day in the lake on his drive).

Leo DaPrato/Will Love   40   $32.00
Heberto Villarreal/Cali   42   $18.00
Kevin Hart/Lori Coffman   43
Andy Lewis/Caleb Coffman   43
Dan Coffman/Tom V   45
Dean Uhlmann/Beth V   47
* note scores include the -2 handicap for women

Next weekend league will be noon Sunday 5/11 at Lake Shore, hope to see you there....if you have questions about league give me a call at 816-210-1063.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 6/1 (Sunny 85-90 degrees, Light South - Southwest wind)

Fourteen players out for League at Lake Shore on a beautiful day.  Course was in immaculate shape, having been freshly mowed on Friday.  Players looked fairly even, so we played straight up random draw doubles.  After 18 holes we had 3 teams tied at 40, Tom Butler/Deano Uhlmann, Andy Lewis/Matt Hayes, and Leo DaPrato/Susan Taylor.  Tom/Deano won the playoff for First Place (including the 2 hole playoff they finished with 10 birdies in a row  :o) and Andy/Matt won the playoff for Second Place.

Tom Butler/Dean Uhlmann   40 $42
Andy Lewis/Matt Hayes     40 $28
Leo DaPrato/Susan Taylor  40
Caleb Coffman/Dan Coffman 43
Kyle Piedimonte/Matt Fox   43
Fred Fortson/Ben Taylor   46
Sean Elliot/Lori Coffman   47

* note scores include the -2 handicap for women
