I absolutely loved the new holes and new pin placements. The back 9 is MUCH more challenging now! Only two things, I think the original pin for #8 is a better hole, although the new pin is probally one of the tougher greens to reach now. The only other thing was the walk from I think #10 to #11, it gave me the feel of walking from #16 to #17 at Olathe.(although not recently ;D)
Pretty small things though, overall Dan, you have done a great job to the course, its coming around!

Been hearing a lot of interest in playing the new layout, so here's a reminder that we will have league this Sunday (10-19) at noon.  Format is random draw doubles, if you have any questions about league give me a call at 816-210-1063.  Might break some more new placements out this week..... ;D

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 10/19 (Sunny 68-71 degrees, Windy (22-25 South - Southwest wind))

Eleven players out for League at Lake Shore on another windy Sunday.  Charlie Tull won the long distance award, driving down from the St.Joe area.  The course was set mostly long with the new long pins on #9 and #14 in play for the first time.  As you can tell from the scores most team struggled with the wind (and course? ;D).  The only team that didn't seem to be affected was Tony/Dan C who were 5 down after 7 holes(mostly because one of their drives would be parked within 10-15 feet), and finished at 7 down with no bogeys.  Charlie T/Matt F. won the CTP for 2nd place cash over Dan Z/Caleb C. (Matt F. needed to leave for work & didn't have time for a playoff).

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 10/26 (Sunny 59-61 degrees, Windy (24 -28 North - Northwest wind with Gusts of 30+))

Nine players out for League at Lake Shore on another windy Sunday.  HartFoundation broke out for a little DG versus changing diapers... ;D.  New pin placements on #4 (woods) and #15 (right) were in play for the first time.  Might of been the toughest wind for Pleasant Hill league that we'd played in Sunday, every team had at least one bogey....the hot score for the back 9 was 1 over (28). :o Caleb/Dan went 5 down on the front nine and hung on for the win with a 50.  Kevin/Lance tied Leo/Rick for second, with a birdie on 18 to finish at 51.  Leo/Rick won the playoff with a birdie on hole #2 (after missing a 25 footer on #1 back into the wind).  Tony aced #4's new placement in the woods......before league. :'(

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 11/2 (Sunny 70-73 degrees, Light wind (5-8 South - Southwest wind )

Five players out for League at Lake Shore on a beautiful Sunday.  New pin placement on #2 (right) was in play for the first time.  Will/Dan and Kevin/Tom were within a stroke until Will/Dan strung birdies on #10, #11, and #13 to go up by 4.  Shot of the day went to Caleb C with the first league birdie on #12 in the woods (Kevin/Tom also were within 25' but couldn't convert).

I am not any good. But today i played my best here(that i can remember atleast) of 59. I want to play with some good guys to get better. This is the closest course to me and i was wondering if i could come to the league play on sundays and participate in play. I dont no if i have to pay or anything i have to do. I also dont no any thing about doubles or singles of how anything like that works. So basically i want to play with you guys and want some info! If anyone could fill me in that would be most wonderful!
 Thanks,
     Tom

for sunday league play gets started around 12:30 or so but get there before that to warm up and meet whoever shows. it's 6 bucks to play but there's a good chance to win it back and part of the money goes back to the course.

doubles play means you get a partner, each of you throws and you take the best shot.

you only get better by playing with people better than you and pleasant hill league is perfect for a new golfer.  get out there sunday.

Sunday League is the Sheeeeeet.  Where else can you get lessons from some great scratch golfers for only 6 bucks.
It is also nice playing doubles. Hopefully your partner will have your back if you have an errant shot or two.
I consider it my 6 dollar donation to help the local course and the cause.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 11/9 (Partly Sunny 41 -45 degrees, Light wind (5-8 South - Southwest wind )

Eight players out for League at Lake Shore on a brisk Fall Sunday.  New pin placement on #17 (short) was in play for the first time.  Had a couple of new players (Thomas & Shane) out for their first league at Plesant Hill.  Also, (for you observant readers) we had 2 Cali's  ::) because Tony arrived after we had all thrown drives on hole #2.  League turned into a shootout between Leo/Cali Leo and Caleb/Dan (with both teams breaking the revised course record).  After 12 holes they were tied at 8 down, and you could tell second was going to whoever blinked.  Leo/Cali Leo never blinked, while he birdied 13, Caleb/Dan missed their 22-25 footer for bird, then followed up with a bogey on 14......and you could hear the fatlady singing the rest of the round.  Congrats to Leo on the new "revised" course record of 43.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 11/16 (Partly Sunny 55 -62 degrees, Light wind (8-10 West wind )

Fourteen players out for League at Lake Shore on a pleasant Sunday afternoon.  Largest league in quite some time, had several players make the drive out from the KC metro and Olathe.  To celebrate the large turnout, the course was set mostly long with #8 and #12 in the woods.  Top four scores were from the same card (which started on #4).  No more than a stroke seperated all 4 teams until Leo/Tony and Andy/Dan Z birdied #16, this gave Andy/Dan Z a 1 stroke lead over Leo/Tony and a 2 stroke lead on the rest of the card.  Leo/Tony birdied #18 to tie Andy/Dan Z for the lead.  Three of 4 teams birided #1 long while Andy/Dan Z bogeyed, this gave Leo/Tony a 2 stroke lead with the rest of the card tied with 2 holes to play.  Everyone birdied #2, but Andy/Dan Z were the only bird on #3 :o, giving them 2nd place.
