Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 5/17 (Sunny 68 degrees, South - Southwest wind 5 -8 mph)

Fourteen players out for League at Lake Shore on a crystal clear day.  Moved pins on #8 and #14 before league.  Well, this one is all about Leo/Ted.....who obliterated the field by 7 strokes. :o  On a perfect day for disc golf they brought their "A" game and in the process set a new course record of 41. :P To be honest, with the current course configuration, I didn't think that there were 13 birdies out there.....a couple of the highlights from their round, birdied #16 from about 80', then followed it with the first birdie during league on #17 from about 100'.

Had a BLAST at my first round at Pleasant Hill!!! Although the golf and beautiful lake/course were definately a plus, the highlight came while I was warming up on hole #3 prior to league.  I was teeing off when a guy came walking across the fairway with a CHIMPANZEE on a leash! As if that wasn't strange enough, as i walked down the fairway the thing came running towards me. After the handler convinced me he was just a baby and wouldn't bite my face off the thing climbed up me and didn't want to let go. Talk about a weird occurrence at the golf course! Anyways, I believe that getting a hug from "Joey" the Chimp gave me some good luck, as we finished our doubles round on #3 and I was able to make my only good putt of the day for a 30-35' birdie. All I can say is Monkey Karma ;D

(I wonder if Tom can beat this...)

Little do you know Spencer, is that "Joey Jingo" is the reigning Simian Division champ, er, chimp, of "Revenge of the Monkey" at Monkey Island in Emporia. They even let him drive the truck all the way last year...

Hey, my part was really easy. All I had to do was clean up after Leo all round and drop in 12' putts. I think he would have been about -11 solo.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 5/24 (Partly cloudy 85 degrees, North - Northeast wind 5 -8 mph)

Even dozen players out for League at Lake Shore on Memorial Day weekend.  Moved pin on #14 to short placement Friday before league because of campers.  Had a couple of new players....Mike S came all the way from Wichita :o, and Jim D came out for League after Will and I talked to him Saturday  ;D.  Great day for golf, Leo/Doug tied Mike/Caleb with a birdie on #18.  But, it was to no avail, when Leo/Doug couldn't convert the birdie on playoff hole #3 from 35' with Mike/Caleb parked.  Mike/Caleb birdied 2 of the more difficult holes, #9 long (with both cards viewing) and #12 long in the woods.  :P

Thanks for running league Dan!

What a beautiful place.  Georgeous property down Smart Rd.  And the Lake didn't seem crowded at all for a holiday weekend.

Great looking course.  Really well taken care of.  Great course for new players, but an enjoyable experience for everybody.  Loved holes 4, 8, 12, 13, 14, & 16.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 5/31 (Partly cloudy 88 degrees, South - Southeast wind 5 -8 mph)

Seven players out for League at Lake Shore.  Aaron & Amber stayed for league after camping overnight.  Pleasant day for golf, Brandon/Dan started off hot with birdies on 2 thru 5 then cooled off for a couple of holes and the rest of the field picked up ground with Fred/Caleb leading the way with birdies on 4 then 6 thru 8.  After nine holes 2 strokes seperated the field, but then Brandon/Dan birdied 10 & 11 to go up by three.  Fred/Caleb tried to make a move when Fred drained a 35' at the mouth of 12 for a bird. :P  But, that was as close as they would get....Brandon/Dan birdied 18 to ice the victory.

Dan,

Did you mean 6/7? Or are you planning on taking a month off and moving league to Tuesday? :)

Even a bad day on the disc-golf course beats ANY day at work! -
