Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 6/26(Partly cloudy 84 - 90, wind South - Southeast 8 -12 gusting to 18 mph)

Fourteen players out for League at Lake Shore on recovery day from the Eastern Front (just ask Jay/Matt).  Park was in terrific shape except for these little red flags and string.  Brandon/Jordan (starting on hole #4) were hot right out of the box with 7 consecutive birds...they went on to finish with a scorching 41...for those scoring at home, the holes they didn't birdie were #1, #11, #12, #14, and #15.  Andrew/Paul weren't far behind finishing with a 43...their long string was only 4 birds...holes #9 thru #12 though.  Putt of the day was Will's bullet putt for bird on #16 from 80'+ (after Dan's had nestled into the mulch around the pin...and then rolled down the hill 20').  Six players stuck around and played a round of wolf afterwards...

The park looked fantastic and the parks department has put in some time enhancing the park. The new sets of  stairs are a nice feature.  So what happened to the trash cans, were they stolen? any word on them being replaced?   the park might not be looking so terrific in a few weeks without those cans.  i was picking up trash after the event and had no place to put it.

Dan, we missed you on Friday and Saturday. Thanks for spraying the OB out there.   Several folks asked where you were.  Did you have a flat tire? ;D i would thought that at least one of the Coffman clan would have made it out to their home course to at least hang out if they were not playing.  I suppose Saturday and Sunday at the course can be tough to swing.

did you guys happen to pick up the flags and rope?  i plan on stopping by this week if it has not been done.  If so, thanks a bunch.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 7/3(Mostlly cloudy 74 - 81, wind North - Northeast 10 - 14mph)

Nine players out for League at Lake Shore on on a kooool Holiday Sunday afternoon.  Park was in good shape...starting to get a little shaggy for PHill with no mow this week.  We played 19 holes today (utilizing both pads on #13)...so the scores reflect an extra hole.  Played the last 4 holes in a light rain.  Cali Jose started out hot with 6 straight birds (with the string ending on #7 when his 15 footer bounced straight out off of the pole)...Boyd/Dan got within one with Dan's seeing eye putt from 45 - 50' for the bird on #8 (Left in the woods)...Boyd/Dan matched shots with Cali Jose until both of them threw their drives OB on #16 to drop them 2 back of Cali Jose, into a tie with Andrew/Roland (who went boogie free).  Cali Jose won with a -10...Boyd/Dan and Andrew/Roland were second with -9.  Lot of good putting going on today with Boyd hitting almost all of his putts (including 2 or 3 from 30 +), Roland converting 2 or 3 from 35 -40', and Ron and Dan both hitting long birdie putts on #8.  Six players (including Narin just back from his honeymoon) played a round of wolf afterwards...big winner was Paul after Andrew couldn't convert a 20' putt on the last 2 holes to secure the win.

Thinking of heading out to play this Sunday, and I am running Cliff League Sun night, I have an idea to keep the teams the same and play a side bet at Cliff, with the teams...if interested let me know, or we can discuss on Sunday at the lake!

Don't think that we can do the same teams in both leagues...I think it would effect the competitive balance.   Another idea would be that players (in the side bet) would not have the same partner, but would get points based on how many teams they beat in each league.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 7/10(Sunny 93 - 99, wind Southwest 5- 9mph)

Thirteen players out for League at Lake Shore on on a hot Sunday afternoon.  Park was in immaculate shape...with a fresh mow on Thursday.   Eric/Fawn scorched the field with a 44...although Fawn (while looking for an errant shot in the woods by #14) lost a battle with a sawed off thorny branch, she still finished the round...no wonder Jay took off, losing to a team with a injured player. ;)  Shot of the day, Boyd's forehand cut roller on #16 for bird.  Putt of the day, Paul's 50+ footer on #14 for bird.

Five players played the obligatory round of wolf afterwards...pushed first 10 holes of skins before Andrew/Roland won on #10...big winner was Roland (who parked his drive/approach on the second playoff hole)...Andrew has to feel snakebitten, as he couldn't find a way to win for the second week in a row.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 7/17(Sunny 93 - 96, wind South - Southeast 7 - 9mph)

Nine players out for League at Lake Shore on another hot Sunday afternoon.  Park was in excellent shape.  Played #13 Left teepad today.  Brandon/Eric won with a 44...Brandon was the co-executioner of Eric's "scorched earth" policy, as Eric won for the second week in a row by more than 3 strokes.  Cali Jake and Paul/Vince tied for second with 47s (Paul/Vince started hot, then cooled down...while Cali Jake started slow, and finished strong)...Cali Jake won the playoff with a bird on #1 Long.  Shots of the day, Jake's pin high drive on #9 Long and park job on #17 Long...with birdies on both holes.  Putts of the day, Matt's 40 - 50' lazers on #8 Left (in the woods) and #18 for bird.

Twentythree players out for League at Lake Shore on a cooler Sunday afternoon.  Park was in immaculate shape, with a fresh mow Friday.  BJ/Jay took the win with a 43...James/John were second with a 44...five teams tied for third with 46s...three teams were eliminated from the playoff when they didn't birdie hole #2  :o...Fawn/Brandon won the playoff with a bird on hole #3.  Tip of the cap to the 3 women out today...they scored pretty well too Fawn (46), Katrina (47), and Laura (51).

I really wanted to make it out this weekend, but woke up with a mean hangover.  A 43 would have been hard to beat.  Well done, Jay and BJ!

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 7/31(Sunny 90 - 97, wind South 5 - 8mph)

Twenty players out for League at Lake Shore on a scorching Sunday afternoon.  Park was in excellent shape.  Rios/Jay and Caleb/Paul tied for first with a pair of 44s...Rios/Jay won the playoff on the 3rd hole when Jay hit a jump putt from 35+(after Caleb/Paul couldn't make the birdie putt on Caleb's drive on #1 Long that stuck behind the tree by the pin)...Dan/Slim were third with a 45.  Run of the day would be Rios/Jay (#15 right, #16, #17 long)...honorable mention Dan/Slim (#8 Left in the woods, #9 long).  Long putt of the day Caleb from 100+ on #15 (right) for the bird (also hit from 40+ for bird on #9 Long)...honorable mention Ray from 50+ on #17 (long) for the bird.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 8/7(Sunny 90 - 94, wind South-Southwest 6 - 8mph)

Twenty players out for League at Lake Shore on a seasonal Sunday afternoon.  With the recent rain, parts of the Park were starting to get shaggy.  Just a few minutes after the last card was in (while doing payouts) we had the wind kickup to 30+MPH...didn't get anything but wind though.  Caleb/Mark cruised to the win with a 43...Brandon/Todd were second with a 44...Eric/Sean took last cash with a 45.  Putt of the day was Mark Martin's seeing eye putt for bird on #12 Long (in the woods)...Drive of the day was BJ's drive on the same hole to within 20' for the bird.

Pleasant Hill League, Sunday 8/14(Sunny 79 - 84, wind North - Northeast 6 - 8mph)

Eighteen players out for League at Lake Shore on a cool Sunday afternoon.  With a fresh mow the park was looking good again.  Brandon/Jay put down a smoking 41 to crush the field...non birdie holes were 5 ???, 9, 12, 14, and 15.  Dan/Herberto and Adam/Jose tied for 2nd with 44s...elected to split the cash versus playoff.  Run of the day was Dan/Herberto 8 straight (holes 3 thru 10)...pushed us into a brief tie with Brandon/Jay.  Birds of the day Adam/Jose on #14 Long (across the road) and Andrew/Dalton on #12 Long (in the woods)...they were the day's only birds on these holes...
