How about we have quite a few bag tag tourneys throughout the year. Maybe different formats like everyone putting their tag in a box shake it up and redraw in the order of your previous # before you play or draw in order of where you placed overall at the end. Or Of course the usual, play what you have amongst the group. I think shaking things up by redrawing gives people #'s they are not used to having more often. The tourney where you end up drawing at the end would not have divisions.

That would definitely mix things up Steve, but it does introduce the element of luck of the draw again. Ideally, people end up with the bag tag they deserve through their play on the course.

Here's a twist I've suggest before: that every once in a while (with advanced notice ideally) a league would put players out, regardless of division, by bag tag order. I know last year, the #1 tag was hanging around the masters division, with the best open players never getting a shot at it.

BTW, does anyone have any clue,who ended up with the top 10 tags last yea?

I'm not a winter warrior, but as soon as the temps moderate a bit on a weekend, I hoping to defend my #1 tag. As noted below, a few have challenged. Anyone else?

I like the order of # idea for league.
I believe there should be a system in place ranking players so that participants are playing for the # they should have

I second that discglover.  I hear people saying that they do not care about tags and it makes sense.  After awhile the same numbers just keep getting passed amonst players and then the folks become less interested.  It is a great fundraiser for the club but we need to keeps the tags circulating in and out of certain groups.

Just like the old days of us competing against each other.
For those interested readers, Dan and I used to compete against one another back in junior high and high school. I went to rival Arrowhead jr high and Washington high School while he went to Central and Wyandotte!! We threw the discus in track meets. We went from tossing heavy flying discs to these discs. Dan was not as active in high school but he knows that the competition we had was the best in the country cause them guys were national record holders from Shawnee Mission South.
 I just wish I knew how to do the discus spin the way I need to do it properly. It is basically spinning the opposite direction from the way I threw the discus so it is awkward for me. Believe me, I've tried.   Now if I could just learn to throw left handed you guys better look out cause I know i would be throwing bombs using that technique.

As far as playing for the same #'s was why I also suggested having a tournament where everyone puts their tag in a box memorizing your #, shake it up and then redraw in order of the tags present. Then play the tourney by division. Of course i suggested many scenarios but Rick and I were discussing that people eventually get the tags they "deserve" to have and ideally thats the way it should be  but I too like shaking things up by redrawing now and then..

That's because people in the #1 to #20 range have better things to do than dig around on the discussion board.... 

I'm carrying #39 so I don't have anything better to do....    

Seriously, I don't think most people with one of the ~200 bag tags get on here that often. We won't be able to really track tags until league starts. And then, only if the league TDs report on them by asking what people have at league. It would be nice but I doubt that will happen either. I didn't do it last year, I tried but always forgot until too late and by then everyone was be out on the course.

In my opinion, every KC summer singles money round (aka league) should be a total bag tag competition. In other words, when folks sign up, their tag number is put by their name, they give their tag to the person running league, and at the end of the round, tags are re-distributed based on score. This would put the lowest number tags in the hands of the top performers. Just offering my 2 cents on the matter.

I didn't get in the bag tag affair this year myself, because I went slightly insane last year possesing and losing the one tag of power three different times, (Spring, Summer, and Fall).
