Tatoo Steve Drew threw a freakin' 19 (46 total) on the back nine at Rosey this morning to take the #1 tag.
The dude was on fire!!! Birdied 10 thru 16 and 18 from about 50 feet!

Chris...oh I mean Crickey- 2 Questions for you...

1. Why did you withdraw your tag comments...ashamed or something?

2. Did you at least put up a fierce battle for #9. I'd love to hear the details of the bloodbath.

No hard feelings other then you did stand me up on Friday but I am over that all ready. We are going to be at Spooky today at 4:30...would be great to get in my revenge match.

I just did a double-take... I thought you said you've had it with Morales, and choked him after the last hole!

I had #1 and then #3, for one whole round each  :-[  There used to be a day...

So, at least we know where #3 is. How about the rest of the top 10? BTW, the last tag--the oddly coveted #200--was sold last week.

Some of us have been considering a slightly different distribution system next year, where those with "X" number (10 has been suggested) of league or KC tournament rounds will be eligible to go for the lower numbers in the initial random draw.This should help put more lower numbers into play amongst those who play leagues and tournaments.

Any thoughts on this?

What about going by who played the most and put their tag on the line the most in the previous season gets to draw from a box with 1-20 ( So the top twenty league attenders).  That would at least start the season off with the top twenty almost guaranteed to be played with the first few weeks.  And the people with the least amount of club showings draw for the bottom 100 or something.

I dont think so... The Top 20 people who show up to league and play on a mostly consistent basis are the heart of our club.   They are the ones bringing in the most equity in leagues and tournaments, so they should have a right to first dibs on tags in the next year.  Maybe for future years people will get out and play more often so they can get one of those top 20 tags.  I mean those things WILL circulate.  And like myself, one of those top 20 people aren't particularly the best players in town.  So it's not like if I were to say get a good # that I will hold on to it long.  BUT I WILL PLAY and put it up for grabs the most amount of times.  That is what we want.  We dont want to loose our Top 5 tags to some group that only plays on saturday mornings at 7:30.  Not that people do that.  I'm just the dick factor, I know nothing.

Here's the Rules - I could not find 2008? Not sure they were different anyway:

The Kansas City Flying Disc Golf Club Tag System Rules 2007

1. Tags must be attached to bags in a visible location and carried at all times.

2. You MUST play with other tag holders on your card at any KCFDC event. Off-card challenges should be limited to one individual choice, you can accept or decline off-card challenges.  Off-card challenges will be settled after on-card challenges.

3. You may not hide or withhold a tag when you have a lower number.

4. If you have to leave during a challenge round for any reason you will forfeit your tag and graciously accept the highest numbered tag in the group.

5.  If you lose your tag you may be able to PURCHASE a new one depending upon availability, you must also notify a member of the EC if tag 1-10 is lost.

6. If you have a tag you must try to play in one club event each month.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No where does it mention how the tags are distributed? Perhaps the rules need to be amended?
However, if the distribution is really random, then it's random, not "those that play the most get the top 20 and the rest of you get to draw".
If there is concern about low tags getting lost in some Saturday morning group (no offense taken Dick) perhaps a rule about reporting what number you have on this BBS should be instituted? Before this recent string there were no posts about where certain tags were since May?
In the end, it's all for fun, a way to compete for something...it shouldn't be that hard.
