Seem to be more of an innova town here, but.....would need to do at Rosey or Swope super short.  Kinda expensive to get plastic that you may or may not use.....

So this is a Discraft deal?  Does it have to be?  We can't just do one for a $10 buy in or something?

I know nothing about it, just something different that may be a good time.

You mean hold our own where you bring one disc perhaps?  That would be interesting....

From what I've heard you only throw a drive per hole, if you miss you go on.

Might be better to get 2-3 drives per hole from the tee pad with a time limit of one minute per person on the pad or something.

You can carry max of 3 discs. You get 1 minute on the pad to throw 3.  3 points for an ace, 1 for metal basket or above?  That would be a pretty fun tournament.

Pleasant Hill would be a great ace race course!!!

Pleasant Hill would still have to be shortened.  The longest holes need to be 250', and there should only be a few.

4 - 150
4 - 200
3- 225
3 - 250

We have talked about doing one here before, but it hasn't happened yet.  Discraft provides the disc, and it has heretofore been a prototype of new disc they're releasing.  You MUST use the disc they give you.  Typically, you can carry 2-3 of them, in case you lose one in the woods, water, whereever.  So far the Breeze, Glide, Meteor, and Impact have been Ace Race discs (there may be one or two more, but I can remember those).  This year would bring a new prototype disc, unless Discraft changes the way they've been doing this.

And like Chris said, the holes would all have to be shortened.  We'd probably make temporary tees on each hole to accomplish this.

Chap, I know that Discraft holds their own Ace Race, but what if we ran our own?  That way, you don't have to buy 2 discs, and all the money could go into the payout.  Plus, we could do that 3 throws in a minute thing, which would make it very interesting.

Payout?  Now its a tourney?  The goal of the ace race was to have fun, and discraft gives you a disc, I don't think that it has a payout component on it.  I still say Swope Shortest is the best place in town to do this at, and if we did it as a FUNd raiser for the worlds, come up with discs that you could get for this event only and then for $20 you get 2 discs, one to keep, one to play with......now that is something that I would run with...

Yates Elementary is probably the only course you wouldn't need to shorten....

true dat, but would it be able to handle an influx of people all day long, would like to start and use staggered starts for something like this.  It could be a fast round, in under an hour you'd be done.

I like the idea of using Yates, but  it would have to be okayed by the district.  You can lenghten some of the holes by playing alternative pads and on a couple holes we could move the baskets further. 

We had 102 players (plus extra parents walking) on the course for our first tourney and it worked out okay.

My concern is that if we did it correctly we would be hosting close to 200-300 people.  Also I envision alcohol beverages at said event for some reason it comes to mind....a school may not want to have that type of activity on it, and I would rather not have a FUNd raiser where that was of concern.

Though initially I love the idea of Yates, it would be ideal for this type of event.
