Our "leagues" are really more like small weekly tournaments. The club typical summer weekly "league" is played as singles. A club member pays $5. Out of the $5, $1.50 goes to the club treasury, $1 goes to the course ACE fund, and $2.50 goes into the nights payout.
During the daylight savings time frame, there are "dark-seekers" that play various GLOW minis through the week, which for the most part are not club affiliated. Additionally, on Saturdays, there is a club weekly mini in Olathe (random draw doubles) at 11:00 am, and a club weekly mini at Rosedale Downunder (random draw doubles) at 12:30 pm. On Sunday there is a club weekly mini in Pleasant Hill, Missouri (random draw doubles) at 12:30.
I'd suggest, if there is enough interest, that a SMP weekly club mini (random draw doubles?)could be played during the daylight savngs period (Winter) on Sundays, say at 1:00, and during summer perhaps on either Tuesday or Thursday evenings at 6:00. I think it would be kewl to keep it a random draw doubles mini year round, as we currently only have P Hill that does that.
I have run leagues quite a bit, and if the course coordinator and exec commitee would like to get one started, and there is enough participation, I would run it. I would like to see the entry and club taxes to be similar to the Downunder mini, which is $10 entry, with $1 to the ACE fund, $2 to the club treasury, and $7 to the payout.
What sayeth the masses?
