Newbie checking in
« on: March 11, 2007, 10:31:21 PM »
Hey all, just thought I'd drop in say what's up. I'm Mike, and I discovered disc golf about a month ago. My son attends Wiliam Yates Elementary, which is where they've recently installed a nice junior course. Got a wild hair to try it out one day, so I bought a couple discs from Dick's and the rest is history. I've met a lot of cool folks at some of the courses around town, and I am absolutely hooked. My only regret is that I hadn't stumbled upon this wonderful sport earlier!

Anyway, hope to see some of you out and about.

-Mike

Welcome to the world of disc golf. Get out and play the local courses and you will meet lots of like minded people. There are fun and competetive events all season. Try the new players league on Mondays at Rosedale. It's free and will get you started on playing a formal round with others.

Welcome Mike!!

Try to keep only a few models of discs in your bag until you feel in control, instead of the discs being in charge. Learn your midrange shots, then apply what you learn to your drivers, with a more power. Keep it smooth!
