ams playing 5 rounds?

i was wondering why the ams play five rounds as apposed to playing four and the pros playing five...is that just how the bigger tournaments usually go, is there some other reasons? just curious?

The Pros have tee times on Saturday and Sunday.  I think the 5 and 4 format was used last year as well.
