Lost Disc on #12...Surprise, Surprise!
« on: June 03, 2008, 06:15:28 PM »
If anyone finds a purple and green Roadrunner on hole 12 at Cliff, I would appreciate it if you could return it.  I just bought it two days ago, but it got a bit flippy.  It went in by the tree in front of the light pole.  My name and number are on the disc.  Much obliged!

Should be easy to find with all of that info! :D

Well...the sarcasm is not lost on me.   ;D  To be even less specific, it fell down the cliff.  I was just hoping that someone would hook a brother up if they happen to find it.  If not, you'll have yourself a pretty pimp looking Roadrunner.

with the normal headwind on that hole, i'd say a Roadrunner is probably not the disc to throw, unless you aim it at the large tree in 13's fairway.

Roadrunners are VERY flippy brand new.

You're right...it's actually more of a Valk shot, but there was no headwind at all.  I even aimed at the tree on 13 and it just went screaming away... :'(.  Oh well...thanks for all the replies and help...much appreciated!

I like to throw a thumber on that tee shot.  Takes the wind out of play.  You may not get all the way down the fairway, but I can usually get past the really large tree that hangs over the fairway.  I'd much rather have a 100 foot upshot to secure my 3 than go down that nasty ass hill.

Star Valk.....
of course there are 2 yellow ones down the hill somewhere there....as well as a CE valk on #7 before we moved the tee pad, on the right side of the road......somewhere DEEEP on #4 is an orange Valk when I tried a Sky Hyzer with the leaves down...#9 Blue Flick, 150 class.....

On another note, I made an INCREDIBLE shot on #2 this weekend.  My drive (pink valk) hit the ground hard by the short placement, and skipped......to be lost......almost, but then was found by #3 (short) pad, which I flicked it up forehand style left myself eith a 40', canned it for 3, on my way to a 51, with 4's on #12 & #13...in that setting par is 55, I felt like a King!!

Discs lost at cliff drive, I just can not believe it, but more importantly, I can not wait to start to go back to work on the course, lets get through this weekend, then start making that course GREAT!!

Well Jack, I agree with you completely.  What a beautiful course Cliff could be with a little TLC.  Could you imagine what a workday down there would look like?  Jeez...we'd need several dumpsters for all the trash that idiots drop in that park.  If you need any help after the Wide Open, I'd definitely like to help on a workday.  Is there any truth to the rumor that Cliff is going to expand to take over those basketball courts by 14?  I concur with you Keizer...definitely tough to find the way anywhere from time to time, much less home.   :D

P&R have said that they plan to pull the court, though I really do see it used appropriately more than not, so I have asked them to seriously think about it, or possbily move it up to where #13 basket area is, and include a playground, bathroom, and drinking fountains.  It would lend itself nicely, and then I would not feel as bad about all the bushes that the P&R took out without notifying us a couple of years back.  We would lose 3 holes, but would have some cool shots that would enhance Cliff Drive.

I am heading to a meeting tonight about that, then off to Blue Valley.

Go Wide Open!!

If you lose a disc at Cliff Drive, just check the lost and found, it's located 500 feet south of 9's teepad on the island. Also, if you find discs on 12, deposit them 700 feet north of 13 long down by the warehouse.
