Depends on the length of Swope and Rosedale, but I imagine those course won't be configured to be Roc and putts.

There are never "short" set-ups for tourneys in KC....unless you are at Solstice or something of that nature.

This might be a little more telling about par etc. This quote if from the PDGA website:

What a Worlds! Wednesday ran super smooth with hardly any back-ups. Day three of competition closed with its 23rd ace recorded.

23 Aces after three days?

When I read this, I was wondering if the three aces we had in league play (Thursday through Wednesday) was actually a higher percentage of aces than the worlds?

hmmm, -76 is the lead after 6 rounds.  In my opinion, that really hurts the competitive image of Disc Golf.

I know ball golf is not disc golf etc., but remember what happened after Tiger tore an new a-hole into Augusta? The re-did the course; made it longer, planted more trees etc. And look what the USGA does to each course that hosts a US Open; the lengthen the course, and let the rough grow like a mo fo! Seems like the courses in the host city might be a little to easy?

I don't know these courses in Michigan but I can't wait to get a report from Joe E and Tattoo Steve! If the leader is shooting an average of -12.6 per round, something ain't right?

Okay, so who's watching the action on the web http://www.pdga.com/schedule/event.php?TournID=7276  ???  Do they have PAR set TOO HIGH on these courses or what  ???

Par was pretty ridiculous.  Apparently the pdga came in before the tourney and set the par.  Put it this way... there were 350' par fours that you could get to on your drive...  courses that should play an average difficulty par 54 were playing par 60-62...

Well that makes more sense as far as another discussion we were having in another thread about setting up par 2's to make it at least not seem so easy.  But if they were calling these holes par 4's at 350' then the PDGA made a huge mistake in setting the pars so high.  Though a 41 is still a 41 I don't care WHAT course you play.

I played in the Worlds, didn't see any 350 ft par fours. If there were the trees an small fairways made it a little rough. I finished 47th in advancemasters. Not bad I don't think seeing those courses for the first time. You can talk about how short some of those placements were, but if you weren't there you don't know!

I also played...  not sure how they counted the pros but the adv am division played a couple courses Meyer broadway and three rivers (temp course) and there were definately some suspect 'par 4s'.  If it is an open hole and people can drive it, it's not a par four... There were also some par 4's at Robert morris that shouldn't have been, and some holes considered par 3 that should be 4.  The hole that I saw some of the highest scores on were on  hole 2 at robert morris that is about 325-350 but has three lines of trees all the way to the hole that are about 8-10' apart.  I could see it being a par 4, but they said it was a par 3...  either way, everyone plays the same course.  Making my score under par didn't make me feel any better about my rounds though...
